Classic compilations really don't get much better than this...A nostalgic dream come true.
  2. It’s a must for old schoolers and also a must for the younger generation so they can see what we had to play and how far videogaming has come in the last 20 years.
  3. Many people will tell you that "Mortal Kombat II" and "3" alone are worth the $20, and when you notice how many other great arcade games are gathered here it becomes obvious that it’s well worth its price.
  4. Other than the VHS-quality bonus videos with the developers and the absence of "Moon Patrol" and "Stun Runner" this is Midway’s best compilation of classic videogames to date.
  5. The game is a penny shy of twenty dollars, and for that price, if you remember any of these games there is no reason not to pick it up and relive those days spent hunched ‘round a cabinet, stubbing out cigarettes on the top and hoping the manager didn’t see.
  6. A marvelous package, and if you're an old school gaming fan, it's a must buy.

Not all of the games have aged particularly well. Pit Fighter, Kozmik Kroozr', and Primal Rage are almost unplayable, and the obnoxious taunts of Wizard of Wor will send you scrambling for the mute button. [Dec 2004, p.116]
  8. Without a doubt worth the £15 ($19.99) price tag. A perfect gift for retro gamers this Christmas.

For some players this is exactly what they want and you can expect a lot of replay value out of this title if your goal is to beat them all and compete with your friends for high score.
  10. If you are even remotely interested (particularly in "MKII" and "MK3") be sure to pick it up.
  11. With an RRP of a mere £14.99, and I’ve found it for under a tenner, it means that you could theoretically have one credit on each game and pay for the same experience of walking into an arcade with the same amount of money.
  12. The inclusion of nearly perfect emulations of "Mortal Kombat 2" and "3" alone make this collection worth it for any fighting fan.

The collection is worth it just for the two "Mortal Kombat" games. [Dec 2004, p.119]
  14. A title worth picking up if you’re feeling a little nostalgic and want to play some simple, but great old titles or would just like to try out some things you may have missed.

There are far more games in this package that will appeal to the current generation of videogamers, since most of the titles in the pack offer far more depth and replay value than the original collection.
  16. No actual treasure, unlike its Defender/Robotron-packing predecessor, but you get a few near-classics for 20 quid. [GamesMaster]
  17. Frankly, gamers fall into two categories: those who recognise these titles (and will probably jump at the chance for some cheap reminiscence), and modern gamers who should better know their history. This super-cheap pack is recommended to both.
  18. PSM Magazine

If you loved any of these games, you need this. If you didn't, it's time for a history lesson. [Dec 2004, p.88]
  19. Play Magazine

The interface has been vastly improved over the original "Treasures", but unfortunately the bonus interviews suffer from unintelligible audio. [Nov 2004, p.75]
