  1. Eventually, the greatest downfall of MTV Music Generator 2 lies in its replay value. After a while, the primary songs lose their freshness and a user might feel trapped in a world of fixed samples.
  2. The game could be handy to a dedicated user, but the complexity of the design is going to drive those with only a casual interest away.
  3. Even though the PC version is based on the original music generator, it is the best of the bunch in terms of control and flexibility.

MG2 doesn’t move the series forward far enough from its PlayStation roots, but if you’ve got a melodic itch to scratch, it’s still worth renting to make your own boogie-down productions.
  5. The game is pretty simple in terms of menus and navigation, yet incredibly in-depth in terms of styles of music you can mix and match.
  6. It's not suitable for everyone, and it will require considerable time and effort on your part in order to produce satisfying results. This same time and effort could just as well be spent learning the actual tools of the trade.

You're better off getting some PC sound software if you'd really like it, but if you do decide to check out MG2, make sure you bring your patience. You're going to need it.
  8. A title most gamers will probably want to leave at the store. However, if you're a serious fan of music and all the design that goes into it, this may be one of the better PS2 titles you could buy.
  9. If you are a big music fan, and are willing to spend countless hours customizing your music, you should definitely check this game out. Otherwise, a rental will probably do.
  10. Excellent outlet for novice users and musical geniuses alike.
  11. Like any program of its ilk, the quality of the results you get from it will be in direct proportion to the amount of time you put into it. Just beware of the memory limitations.

You must really, truly, dearly want to make music -- and be good at reading pages of instructions and have lots of patience -- to buy this game.
  13. Music has never sounded better than MTV Music Generator 2 which pleases us. Do yourself a favor and expand your own horizon by giving this a try.
  14. A fantastic tool for the PlayStation 2; it’s so simple to create some fantastic tunes. You’ll be so proud of yourself at the end, give it five minutes and you’ll be on it again making your next big hit.
  15. Most people will probably be satisfied with the original Music 2000 on the PSone, but if you’re feeling flush, or really want to be the next David Morales, then this is definitely worth checkin’ out and is a must for those who missed out last time. Let''s groove!
  16. As a musical creation app, this program has plenty of capabilities, but is lacking in the user interface department. As a videogame, MTV Music Generator 2 is about as boring as it gets.

This game is so creative that I have created more than 60 tunes in two memory cards! The first red one has 29, the second red one has 37 and the third red one has 1 single song! Maybe I can get my own website, but not for a long time. 3D ROCKS! The music video graphics, like what Funkmaster Flex says, are BRAZY! Cool beans! Full Review »
