  1. "Live" has become stale and needs to be redone ... so all you "Live" lovers, there is a new sheriff in town -- and it's NBA 2K6.
  2. 100
This year's game clears up almost any blemishes that may have carried over through the years, and perfects the package in a way that blew my socks off.
  3. There were enough nuances and respect for fundamentals that I felt like I could use my basketball I.Q. as an advantage. And yet, the game is playable, even for someone who has never touched the game.
  4. 90
The most realistic basketball game on the market. It's an accurate representation of the sport and captures a lot of the intangibles extremely well. It's got enough gameplay available to keep both the arcade and simulation contingents happy.
  5. There are so many nuances to the look of this game; it’d be a feeble task trying to list them. Needless to say, it’s stunning.
  6. It's an undeniably great game - it's just not meant for the casual player. [Jan 2006, p.80]
  7. When you add up an excellent sim experience, with flashy graphics, capable announcers, a deep franchise mode and solid controls, you arrive at the best all around basketball game for the PS2. No contest.
  8. While the tweaks to isomotion and shooting are the most obvious improvements made to an already solid basketball simulation, it's the leaps forward in artificial intelligence that ultimately define NBA 2K6's quality.
  9. A great basketball game, and offers players plenty of bang for their buck and definitely the best B-Ball value this year. Unfortunately, those expecting enough major changes to warrant the price hike may be disappointed.
  10. NBA 2K6 remains unbeatable. The competition doesn't even come close to touching this release. [Nov 2005, p.143]
  11. I'm a hardcore basketball fan, so 2K6 had me immersed immediately. The upgraded graphics help, but it's the ingenious shot stick that really dominates the feel of the game.
  12. Isomotion either really needs an overhaul, or it needs to be scrapped. And PLEASE do something about about the computer AI. But on the flip side, I love the new shot stick, and the strip and rip controls.
  13. Some of NBA 2K6’s updates are incremental, while others show a continuing commitment towards maintaining the best NBA video game on the market.
  14. This is the most complete NBA game out there, dominating the court with its new control options, good A.I. and strong delivery.
  15. Expectations for how much can be done to a franchise between seasons just went up.
  16. What separates this game from the games before it is the freedom you have with your players.
  17. For b-ball heads, it's one of the deepest, most well-rounded and entertaining simulations of the sport on the shelves. You can lose months of your life to it.
  18. Happily, NBA 2K6 continues the series’ legacy of producing the best basketball games around. Everything is solid, fun to play, and there’s lots to it.
  19. A solid simulation basketball game that's worth picking up if you've got a hankering for the sport, not to mention the fact that's it's incredibly affordable.
  20. 80
24/7 is worth the price of the game itself, and the beefed up association mode and improved authenticity of gameplay, despite the erratic AI, make this the best installment in the franchise despite the absence of the ESPN partnership.
  21. Problem is, it simply isn't as intuitive as "Live." It takes several games to get the feel for it and even when you do, you still can't pull off the same breadth of moves you can in EA's offering. [Nov 2005, p.78]
  22. If you're a big basketball fan, go out and buy NBA 2K6, because it's a must and officially it's extremely accurate.
  23. Solid, but nowhere near spectacular sim that will only satisfy B-ball fans who can appreciate its subtleties. The rest of us can only look on, slightly bemused. [Apr 2006, p.100]

Just like another ordinary nba games. nba 2k6 only gives a little improvement and development. still too hard too handle the analog and pad joystick. too many function makes me confuse and hard too focus to the game. but it's still worth to paly. GG Full Review »
