Mixed or average reviews - based on 10 Critics What's this?

  • Summary: NBA Showtime fans may enjoy Hoopz, but the game would have benefited from an honest-to-goodness arcade mode and a speed setting, if not faster overall gameplay.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 10
  2. Negative: 1 out of 10
  1. The faces are the truest recreation of NBA stars I've seen, though the big heads do look a little out of place on the equally outlandish bods.
  2. The game's greatest shortcoming, however, is that this style of over-the-top gameplay hasn't evolved much from Midway's own "NBA Jam" or "NBA Showtime" titles.
  3. 40
Only if you're desperate, really, really desperate. But if you were looking forward to a new kind of game, a fun, arcade-style hoops game that will really open your eyes, wait for "NBA Street."

What the hell? the guys can jump as high as the GOAL, this game is way to unrealistic, and theres no 5 on 5 basketball, just games like 21 or 2 on 2, not that fun. Expand
