Eh....not so great for casual users, but only great for die-hards. Otherwise, you might as well rent 2k7 or go to a best buy and observe.

The mag/internet reviews say it all. Great sim game, but the actual gameplay itself is extremely frusterating. User and AI seem to be playing two seperate games; computer play is virtually flawless while the user will deal with missed layups, numerous turnovers, suffocating man d, and double teams on every post up.

About that the most recent post, I agree. Players do get hurt, tired, injured, and this stuff happens in everyday life, and you have to account for it. Players do get hurt, tired, injured, and this stuff happens in everyday life, and you have to account for it. College guys usually average about 30 minutes a game, and players in the pros average about 35-38, with some going 40, but not all. It's because coaches like players playing with close to full energy, and tired players can slow down the game and they may risk injury. This accounts for pace, and you can adjust the sliders. The only goofy thing I find are that the dunk, layup, and shoot buttons are 3 different buttons, but if you play it long enough, you get used to it, like learning another language, but then you get the grasp of it. It's still the same great style, fast paced, and allows hard-core game players to set realistic rotations and use set plays, matchup, or so forth. Good if you're a hardcore fan....if not, you just might be lost in the shuffle. Expand

I'm not a fan of how they rate rookies, some rookies are rated unbelievably high and others unbelievably low, and some are rated in areas that don't follow the scouting report, but the franchise mode is great, because it allows you to set your rotations, as short or deep as you want it, and makes sure that you have to condition your players and keep players fresh. The chemistry thing is also nice, for it rings pretty true in real life. Sans the Kobe-Shaq teams where they were just really really good, and they cooperated on the field, there were many bad news Portland Trail Blazers teams of the 2000s and late '90s that prevented them from gelling ,winning, and also helped by poor coaching by Rick Adelman. Overall, the gameplay is decent, if you adjust the sliders to fast, around 70-80 perhaps, and the freestyle mode is fantastic. A realistic franchise mode allows this game from being poor to above average. Expand

Aside from the overrated rookie scale, its franchise mode is aaight. You gotta love it!

I really find the gameplay hard but die-hard basketball fans would love this game.

NBA Live 07 is a lot like its cover athlete, Tracy McGrady: It's capable of some stunning moves, worthy of the highlight reels, but is a little too offensive-minded and selfish. It's got a lot of skill, but doesn't do enough to get to the playoffs.
  2. While NBA Live 07 is a generally decent sports game with near-average replayability, it doesn’t “capture” anything. You’ll be amused but not engrossed. It’s an update to last year’s game, not a sequel.
  3. The bottom line is that NBA Live 07 is a pretty darned good hoops sim - once you adjust the wonky default sliders. Without it, the shooting doesn't give an inch, no matter how well you time your release.
