It has the look and realism of everything you want in a game. Its simulation is almost flawlessly realistic, and its freestyle mode with the superstars puts this game right near the top. Add maybe a little more interactive gameplay and speed it up a notch (the sliders are a little goofy), and you'd have a killer game. But right now, this game is still great.

EA has done it again, with consistent brilliance, and will make people learn how to play the game the right way. It's for thinkers and players, not for those who just want it their own way. And, the franchise mode is great, because it allows you to set your rotations, because guys get too tired in real life. If they didn't, every starter would get 40-48 minutes a game, and EA has done it again, with consistent brilliance, and will make people learn how to play the game the right way. If they didn't, every starter would get 40-48 minutes a game, and there's just too much running and energy to expend in a two and a half hour game. Plus, role players are always key and vital to each and every team, thus making it realistic. And even better, you can do a draft-over of the 2006 draft. Expand

This game is highly underrated--and I seriously mean it. 'Specially for sim users. Feel the funk of this game.

"About that the most recent post, I agree. Players do get hurt, tired, injured, and this stuff happens in everyday life, and you have to account for it. College guys usually average about 30 minutes a game, and players in the pros average about 35-38, with some going 40, but not all. It's because coaches like players playing with close to full energy, and tired players can slow down "About that the most recent post, I agree. College guys usually average about 30 minutes a game, and players in the pros average about 35-38, with some going 40, but not all. It's because coaches like players playing with close to full energy, and tired players can slow down the game and they may risk injury. This accounts for pace, and you can adjust the sliders. The only goofy thing I find are that the dunk, layup, and shoot buttons are 3 different buttons, but if you play it long enough, you get used to it, like learning another language, but then you get the grasp of it. It's still the same great style, fast paced, and allows hard-core game players to set realistic rotations and use set plays, matchup, or so forth. Good if you're a hardcore fan....if not, you just might be lost in the shuffle." I agree - you get used to the gameplay, and after a while, it's actually quite fun. I enjoy playing this game. Expand

NBA Live 07 is a lot like its cover athlete, Tracy McGrady: It's capable of some stunning moves, worthy of the highlight reels, but is a little too offensive-minded and selfish. It's got a lot of skill, but doesn't do enough to get to the playoffs.
  2. While NBA Live 07 is a generally decent sports game with near-average replayability, it doesn’t “capture” anything. You’ll be amused but not engrossed. It’s an update to last year’s game, not a sequel.
  3. The bottom line is that NBA Live 07 is a pretty darned good hoops sim - once you adjust the wonky default sliders. Without it, the shooting doesn't give an inch, no matter how well you time your release.
