There's enough content and replay value to keep you busy for hours -- even more if you hook up with friend. Factoring all the elements this title offers makes it a no-brainer for anyone who's wanted a fighter that's simple to play, entertaining, and offers long-term value.

It's a rarity for any fighting anime game to have any sort of substance, style and especially, playability. Bandai has done an exceptional job in capturing the show's trademark comedy and battles.

A title perfect for gamers of any age. It's safe for kids as there's only animated violence and it sports a simplified control scheme, yet it has enough content and challenge to keep experienced adult gamers entertained for quite some time.

I haven't enjoyed a fighting game this much in years. [Oct 2005, p.70]

The only thing that keeps One Piece from being a must-buy is that it needs more game modes (online, survival, team battle, etc.) [Nov 2005, p.88]
  6. Offers enough to amuse some friends on a Friday night, and more than enough to please hardcore fans of the original anime.
  7. Bandai and Ganbarion hit the nail on the head making this title mimic the One Piece anime, yet placed it into a genre that allowed them to add their own flavor to the series.
