  1. Delivers deeper, more fluid gameplay than any mixed-martial-arts game to date, making for an especially exciting two-player game.
  2. 80
With 25 fighters and a comprehensive create-a-character option, it's amazing to me that advancing someone's career or winning and defending a title wasn't possible.
  3. A very deep, engaging fighting game, although the single player experience leaves much to be desired.
  4. PSM Magazine
The biggest problem with the finished version, however, is the lack of a career mode... That problem aside, Pride FC is still an incredibly playable sports adventure. [Feb 2003, p.29]
  5. The most impressive and unique highlight of Pride FC is its international cast of playable fighters. Unlike UFC, which only has a handful for foreign-bred entrants, Pride's line-up consists of a wide-range of fighters with different fighting styles from around the world.
  6. Not only gives you a realistic fighting challenge, but also manages to make it look really good while doing so. However, it does suffer from some setbacks, like a poor selection of moves, and a very steep learning curve.
  7. 82
Pride FC has one-upped UFC's efforts and is clearly the champion of MMA games. Though they are very similar on paper, Pride FC has more depth than its UFC counterpart.
  8. With impressive graphics, a deep combat system, and control that lets you throw out the moves like a Disco dancer on Speed, fans of Mixed Martial Arts and Pride competition will find Pride FC a very accessible and transfixing game.
  9. Game Informer
Gameplay-wise, it is probably the company's best effort. Where it fails is replay. [Feb 2003, p.97]
  10. 80
Simply put, Pride FC shines with details that will make any Pride fan or former match attendee misty eyed with nostalgia.
  11. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
The game features an abundance of fighting styles, and everything from the grapples to the counters comes off incredibly well. [Feb 2003, p.108]
  12. GameNow
A bloody, intense game that almost perfectly captures all of the excitement of the world's premiere fighting sport. [Mar 2003, p.49]

It's nice but a career mode would've made it a hundred times better.

Hows it going, I just came back from sea, I'm in the Navy, and when I came back to San Diego, my little cousin told me about this game, Hows it going, I just came back from sea, I'm in the Navy, and when I came back to San Diego, my little cousin told me about this game, so I went yesterday to Target, and I bought the game, and I was like DAMN! this game is shisnicks, I especially like it how you can create your own fighter, that part was pretty bomb. The game is more realistic than ufc but lacks in the career mode or stat tracking.
