  1. Rayman Raving Rabbids is a fairly simple collection of minigames that manages to win you over largely on the merit of its personality.
  2. Rayman Raving Rabbids is a direct port of a game clearly designed for the Wii to platforms that don't even support the core appeal. It's sad now that the bunny that demos the Wii's controls before every event is replaced by... empty space.

While the level of humour remains the same, the PlayStation 2 version falls short in the graphics department. The mini-games also don’t feel as engaging as they do on the Wii at times.

A banal experience that features some of the flimsiest mini-games we've ever had the misfortune to play. [Issue # 149, p.87]
  5. Aside from a few bum mini-games and some confusing pre-game setup, RRR is a very amusing collection of random delights. [Mar 2007, p.86]
  6. It's all a bit too monotonous. [Feb 2007, p.66]
  7. While there's enough variety and humour here to appeal to almost everyone in the family, wtihout a decent multiplayer mode to anchor it into your PS2, RRR's half-life is extremely short. [Jan 2007, p.79]
  8. It’s a great demonstration of all the things that can be done with the Wii controller, although it’s still amusing with a conventional PS2 joystick.

But with the variety of twisted sub-games and interesting themes, I had a great time getting there. Absolutely a case of the journey is more important than the ending! A couple of sub-games just seem intent on burning up a joystick, but I was too busy laughing at first, then intent on completing each game to notice my fingers smoking the controller until later. Dynamic, alive, not exactly repetative although of course you have to loop the tracks as they are mini games. But overall a very well put together soundtrack, very impressive. Full Review »
