  1. Pelit (Finland)
Reservoir Dogs manages to capture the look and feel of the movie even without most of the original actors. The episodic structure works well and the idea of not having to shoot anybody in the action parts is great. A short but fun experience especially for fans of the movie. [Sept 2006]
  2. It’s rollicking good fun all the way, let down by the short, repetitive nature of individual levels and the fact that only Michael Madsen of the original cast appears in the game.
  3. AceGamez
It's got style, class and lots and lots of violence, as well as a kick ass soundtrack.
  4. PSM3 Magazine UK
Looks fantastic, sounds fantastic and plays...well, not quite so fantastically, but it's still fun. [Nov 2006, p.70]
  5. Perhaps most importantly, it’s fun. Repetitive and glitchy in places maybe, but that hook will keep you reeling out those sweary one liners at hostages and putting security guards’ faces through vending machines until the conclusion.
  6. Fans of the movie are going to be put off by an extended story and characters that don’t live up to the original.
  7. The tie-in with the movie makes this average game good but let’s not forget that at the core this is just an average game. If anything it makes me want to see the movie again.
  8. Although the overall atmosphere is far removed from the tense, dialogue-heavy trappings of the film, this is a consistently enjoyable action game that will keep you entertained for the few hours it lasts.
  9. It's acceptably action-packed, but if it hadn't been patterned after Quentin Tarantino's signature film, you'd probably have forgotten it exists by now.
  10. Play UK
The problem is that everything away from the game itself - in other words the game itself - is genuinely weak. [Issue 145, p.76]
  11. Unfortunately, the cartoony graphics, stilted shooter gameplay, and completely rancid car missions fail what could otherwise be a passing game.
  12. While the story itself is quite compelling and the premise is very interesting, the numerous technical problems keep this title from ever achieving its true potential.
  13. Reservoir Dogs has more major flaws regarding the core gameplay, and because it takes a more direct and linear approach, can't cover up the minor problems with open-ended adventure.
  14. Official Playstation 2 Magazine UK
A bad idea executed only slightly better. [Oct 2006, p.97]
  15. 50
Reservoir Dogs won't appeal to hardcore aficionados of the film; the almost-total omission of the original cast and likenesses will probably cause fans to attempt a bullet festival of their own.
  16. PSM Magazine
Enemies spawn from nowhere, and missions are more repetitive and dull than "Just Cause," but with no crazy parachute. [Jan 2007]
  17. Neither a good action game on its own merits, nor quality fan service, Reservoir Dogs is an out and out failure.
  18. Being locked in a room with Mr Blonde, a razor blade and a can of petrol would be more fun than playing this again.
  19. 40
It's playable, mostly, but so uninteresting and bland that it's nearly impossible to think of a reason to.
  20. Play Magazine
All dogs go to heaven? Not hardly. This one rots somewhere else. [Dec. 2006, p.86]
  21. Just another average licensed game that decided to disrespect the wrong film.
  22. 30
Repetitive gameplay and limited replayability and difficulty settings are just the tip of the iceberg of a game that could've explored so much more of the characters from the movie, but just barely scratched the surface of the film.
  23. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
Not nearly the sum of the parts it mimics, Reservoir Dogs answers some questions for fans of the film, but it just isn't worth the time. [Jan. 2007, p.86]
  24. Reservoir Dogs the game takes a groundbreaking film and jams it into a formula it wasn’t meant to fit in the first place. Some heist movies don’t have heists, some stories are told out of order, and some movies aren’t meant to be games.
  25. Blurry characters and environments, rigid animation, and overdone physics all add up to a package that comes off as rushed and uncared for.
  26. If I was handed this game and a rusty meat cleaver and told that I would have to cut off some part of my body with the cleaver or play the game again, I’d be wondering just when I’d had my last tetanus shot.
