Transforming robots, stylish graphics and a huge variety of missions make up for the occasional bump in the road. [Nov 2002, p.72]
Fans of the Robotech series should be highly impressed. Others … well maybe, maybe not.
It does an incredible job of re-creating the show's fast-paced mech combat by combining slick animation and spot-on controls. [Nov 2002, p.302]
A decent, but unremarkable game. The story, graphics, music, and voice acting will greatly appeal to fans of the show, but I don't see these aspects bringing new fans into the fold.
The engine is slick and the action thick... Just know that the gameplay mechanics throughout fail to present the depth needed to truly engage long-term.
The level design is mostly uninspired, but there are some great dogfight stages and one-on-one boss battles.
However, the sheer agony induced (both physically and mentally) by the lazy implementation of the controls made me scream time and time again.
