Just like all of its predecessors, in that it is all about taking a character, wading into combat, and decimating the enemy ranks.
Gameplay is still repetitive, but it's a lot of game for the money. [Holiday 2004, p.96]
This game is ideally suited for players looking to relive Samurai Warriors, or who are diving in for the first time. For anyone who got their fill of Samurai Warriors the first time around, there isn't enough here to warrant your attention.
The fact that you can't control the camera beyond a 'bring to rear' command is still very annoying when you've got enemies approaching from all sides.
If you already own and like "Samurai Warriors," Xtreme Legends is something you will love. However, if you're expecting it to be a solid stand alone title, it doesn't have that much to offer.
