  • Summary: Remember when snowboard sims used to suck? The times have truly changed with the monster speed, detailed tracks and super-fast frame rates of EA's first extreme sports game for the PS2.

  1. There is an unimaginable amount of depth underneath its flashy exterior.
  2. Beautiful graphics, huge courses, great multiplayer and infinite replayability round out the package to make this hands-down the best game on the PS2.
  3. Unless you’re expecting a true snowboarding game, it is hard to be disappointed with SSX.
  4. The gameplay isn’t perhaps as tight as Nintendo’s ageing "1080º Snowboarding," but it’s an original take on the sport and deserves all the praise it has received.

Amazing game, if you still own a PS2 and want a cheap fun ride, pick this one up! You will love snowboarding and make you wish you lived in a place that had snow and mountains! Expand
  2. I never thought in a million years that my most played PS2 title would be a snowboarding game, but to my surprise it pretty much was. SSX was truly a good game, the unrealistic aspect of it made the experience even more fun and to this day this is one of the better PS2 titles. The best part of the game was learning and performing new tricks, tied in with some sweet maps. Even though I didn't own any of the predecessors, I've seen Tricky and SSX 3 and they are both worthy of the name and add some meaningful content. Expand
