If players can get past the clumsy menu system and uninspired graphics, they’ll find themselves a great game.
The Legend of Alon D'ar goes for the big story (which is lame in its own way) and the big RPG feeling - but falls short on both counts.
Even though I found myself wanting to get from story point to story point, the quest between proved to be just too boring and much too tedious to overlook.
Diluted, saucy graphics, aggravating camera angles, a crappy combat system and questionable controls make LoAD not a whole lot more than its acronym suggests.
The title moves along at a swift 60 fps to make for a very fluid travel experience. The frame rate does come at an expense. To put it bluntly, the characters look like well textured Legos. When the character zooms in for in-game cinemas the characters’ true blocky form is revealed.
If you like punishment or enjoy suffering through hours of boring quests and downright horrible fighting, then by all means go out and purchase this stinker at once. There’s so much wrong with this game it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what makes it awful as it is.
