  • Summary: In the sequel to the naval action sim "Naval Ops:Warship Gunner", video gamers engage in deadly sub-to-sub stealth warfare, pilot classic warships and design their own fleet of destroyers, submarines, and battlecruisers. With KOEI's strategic twist on naval action, Warship Gunner 2 lets players invest in new technologies to develop a full spectrum of artillery systems, aircraft, ship hulls, propulsion and electronics. Over 1000 vital components in all. Combat in Warship Gunner 2 takes place across 100 missions and 60 stages teeming with lethal seafighters, swarms of enemy aircraft, and unworldly super-weapons. Using the game's control panel and advanced heads-up display, players must track their targets through darkness, varying sea states and the most adverse weather conditions known to man. 1. For gearheads and RPG freaks, this is absolutely worth a look, and for everyone else, the creativity and holy-hell-they-make-a-game-about-that-stuff aspect might just make it worth the purchase price.
  2. A surprisingly detailed game that will provide hours of enjoyment for those seeking a bit more depth than your typical naval warfare game.
  3. A lengthy strategy game with a fair learning curve. It’ll take you an hour to understand the controls and combat system; it could take twice as long to grasp the massive ship-building system.
  4. If you like arcade style combat games against hundreds of enemies at a time, and the ability to design your own ships then Warship Gunner 2 is a worthy edition to your PlayStation 2 library.
  5. If you can get past its dense and uninviting interface, Warship Gunner 2 offers unique naval combat and an incredible amount of ship customization.
  6. I was frustrated by the drawbacks in the title, especially the tiny text on the in-game radar as well as some of the differences in the tutorials between what was being described and what actually was on screen.
  7. Unless you’re performing some mad experiment to actually bore someone to death, I’d definitely stay away from this one.
