  1. "FIFA 2003" is fully licensed and pretty to look at, but WTS has it beat in every other category.
  2. With enough brilliantly entertaining game modes and ultra smooth controls, this is a true soccer sim that will keep gamers busy for a long while.

While EA continues to tinker with its gameplay, I think footie fans will enjoy World Tour's more traditional and consistent controls. [Feb 2003, p.98]
  4. With tons of game modes and a large number of customizable options World Tour Soccer 2003 will bring back soccer fans for more, even with it's short-comings.
  5. A challenging game with a lot of play options and an immense number of teams. Don't expect NHL-like scoring, though.
  6. With solid visual, great modes, and heavy replay value, WTS2003 is a great sports title.
  7. WTS 2003 plays like a dream. Tight and responsive controls help you perform all the headers, passes, and goal kicks with ease.

There simply aren't enough stats, or at least enough that are properly tracked and displayed, to quench the numbers thirst that many simulation fanatics will be looking to crave.

It listened to the criticism of its 2002 release and came out with a highly polished 2003 edition. The latest game has significantly cut the distance between itself and the top soccer titles on the shelf.
  10. 80
Although there aren't any online features or a training mode to teach newcomers the characteristics of soccer, the variety of game modes is astounding, and the gameplay is enthralling.

The controls are fast and tight and there are enough play modes to keep you coming back to the pitch for quite some time. [Feb 2003, p.30]
  12. The gameplay is fluid and clean. The players resemble their real-life counterparts as well as act like them. This game has all the features of a true soccer match.
  13. If they can continue this pattern we just might have the best soccer game next year.
  14. Official U.S. Playstation Magazine
    80
The best part of the game, though, is beating a defender on the dribble and creating a scoring chance. It's energizing and it's effort well-spent. [Feb 2003, p.109]
  15. A solid game that will appeal more to those who play multiplayer games. Although the single player modes aren’t bad, the simple gameplay won’t be able to compete with other soccer games on the market.
  16. A just as addicting game as last years game, and improves pretty well upon it too.

Way better than FIFA and Winning Eleven, hands down. I returned those two the next day while I'm still playing WTS2003 non-stop. It Way better than FIFA and Winning Eleven, hands down. I returned those two the next day while I'm still playing WTS2003 non-stop. It would be a 10 if the referee wasn't so stupid as to send out a player for a dumb unintentional handball in the middle of the field and other minor details. The best soccer game out there, period.
