  1. The game looks great, is simple to pick up and play and it takes a while to see everything should you decide to uncover all of the characters, cards and storylines.
  2. A poor manual, combined with a small move list for each character really puts this game at the rental level. They did manage to capture the series quite well in the game, but they did so at the expense of gameplay.
  3. If you enjoy the Zatch Bell! TV show and think that a fighting game containing the characters, locations, and stories from the show would be right up your alley, then don't hesitate to pick this one up.
  4. It’s a turn on and a turn off. I like to see developers exploring other options for fighting games, but if a sequel is made I hope they include a stronger combo system.
  5. Play Magazine
Hmmm, do I smell yet another Bandai anime-based fighting game? Indeed I do and again it's all that and a trip to the fruity farm... [Nov p.94]
  6. 70
The whole thing is very goofy, funny, weird, and cute... If you're looking for a fast-paced, simple fighter with appealing graphics and an unusual sense of humor, Zatch Bell! is definitely worth your time.
  7. PSM Magazine
Most of us should just stick to iron fist tournaments and burning souls. [Holiday 2005, p.90]
  8. This undemanding fighter may be good enough for anime fans, but the game is too simple for fighting fans and too self-referential for anyone else.
  9. Yet another pretty--but shallow--anime-based fighting game from Bandai that offers some good fun for about an hour.
  10. 50
The fighting aspects of the game are only somewhat passable, so fans of the series - especially young kids - may find joy in this title, but anyone who's used to the depth, variety or challenge of Soulcalibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter or anything else of that caliber should steer clear.
  11. Bandai's string of horrible anime-based games continues, as Zatch Bell! Mamodo Battles is yet another boring and mindless beat-em-up starring characters who look and sound extremely annoying.
  12. The gameplay feels like someone tried to mix the gameplay of "Super Smash Brothers" with that of a more traditional 3D fighter and gave up half-way through, while the design of story mode is likely confusing and potentially frustrating for the younger crowd.

I think this game is action packed and the places spell and charters are all the same from the T.V. show
