  1. The game is simple to learn, yet lends itself to intense, challenging battles that can really get your adrenaline racing.
  2. Age of Booty is a competent multiplayer real-time strategy game that uses its pirate setting well. It is best played among friends on levels you designed for yourself or with strangers over the PSN. Single player levels are ok in itself, but offer no more than a tutorial and very basic gameplay.
  3. 75
If you have a group of like-minded friends, Age of Booty is an addictive online strategy game that rewards communication and teamwork.
  4. If it weren’t for the online multiplayer and map editor modes, there wouldn’t be much to say about Age of Booty. But this game wasn’t designed to be played as a single player game so a lot can be forgiven.
  5. 70
The single player component will only satisfy the lonely and serve as a tutorial backdrop for the more robust multi-player options. A properly accessible downloadable title, Age of Booty is a joy to hop into with some friends, though with the current sound difficulties and insubstantial single-player not quite worth the $9.99 price tag.
  6. Fun with friends, but best avoided like the press gang alone. [Feb 2009, p.103]
  7. 81
Evades repetition with considerable grace. [Issue#172, p.93]
  8. Actual strategy may be negligible, but there's a slick arcade title waiting for anyone wishing to drop anchor. [Feb 2009, p.84]

Alright, what the ps3 (all system period these days) lacks in good games to be found in stores it makes up for somewhat with the playstation network games such as this. This is yet another fun little game you can purchase and download for a small price on the playstation network store. This particular one is one of the best. It's constantly seeing new updated content for you explore, and the there are always players to be found in the multiplayer if you're looking for more of a challenge than the single player can offer. It's totally worth spending the 10 or 20 bucks of downloading it. You'll find yourself reliving being a kid again and enjoying a simple yet beautifully executed game.
Games like these are the rare gems of the gaming market these days; since it's apparent great mainstream games are intolerably few and far apart.
