Those niggles aside, I do want to praise Akimi Village and NinjaBee for again delivering a game without any negative dynamics to contend with: no enemies to defend against, no hurricanes or earthquakes to ruin urban development, and no penalties of any sort.

Alternately tranquil and tedious, Akimi Village is as simple as city builders get.

Akimi Village is a very basic game that will only appeal to a certain type of gamer. One who is willing to invest a decent amount of time into restoring the vitality of a world, through repetitive actions. Due to this and its aforementioned issues, it's hard to recommend to anyone other than the hardcore life simulator fans.

For your money, there's plenty of gentle strategy on offer, and a lovely way to pass the time for those of us whose brains come alive to the unfolding of tech trees.

A quirky little city builder that's fun for the first hour or two and then gets long on repetition and short on reward.
