  • Summary: Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 PC classic, the all-new Aliens vs. Predator allows players to take the role of three infamous species: Colonial Marines, Predators and Aliens. The game features a unique three-way online multiplayer experience, allowing gamers to battle for survival and the right to be crowned the deadliest species in the galaxy. Each race also has its own distinct action-packed single-player campaign mode, with a storyline that cleverly interweaves with the other two species’ paths. Set on planet BG-386; a human colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the galaxy, a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs. Deep inside the ruined pyramid meanwhile, nature's deadliest species awakes from centuries of hibernation intent on finding new prey. The Colonial Marine's story is an incredible fight against all odds from horrors lurking in the dark. Surrounded on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity's last stand with the firepower to fight back. As the Alien, players discover what it's like to be the scariest, most murderous creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface at lightning speed in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly claws, tail and teeth. A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player an arsenal of exotic weaponry with which to stalk from the shadows. Earn the greatest honor by ambushing prey up-close, before butchering them for a gory trophy kill. [Sega] Expand

  1. Possibly the greatest movie-inspired title ever. This positively oozes atmosphere and is a must for the fans. [Mar 2010, p.72]

Aliens vs Predator is quite a unique game. You can play with the three factions in the singleplayer and the story of each faction is coming to a climax at the end of the game. After that, you can also play the multiplayer with a few different modes and the most interesting part of the multiplayer is that you can play with the three factions in one map, that delivers very chaotic, but funny gameplay.
  3. Aliens vs Predator it's a fun to play FPS. The singleplayer is quite enjoyable if played with one of the creatures, but unfortunately playing as marine doesn't scare as it once did. Aesthetically the games looks quite old on consoles, but it sounds exactly as the movies. After finishing the game, you'll find a complete and quite well made multiplayer mode, entertaining thanks to the good calibration of the three races.
  4. Alien vs. Predator is not the greatest of games, but it is not all bad. Also with the poor visuals and a multiplayer system that isn’t all that interesting, you’ll probably put the game down once you finish all the campaign stories.
  5. When Aliens vs. Predator is at it's best it actually does capture the essence of the movie franchise. But for the most part this feels like an obsolete title that should have been released three or four years ago. Antiquated game play mechanics, underwhelming presentation, repetitive campaign scenarios and horribly unbalanced online multiplayer are just some of the issues that makes this one of the big disappointments of 2010.
  6. AvP far outstrips the movies of the same name, but is no where near the landmark experience that the original game was.

The survivor mode is like the game itself in a microcosm. It's rote and uninspired, a desultory thoughtless collage of bits and pieces surgically removed from the movies and dropped lifelessly into a dated engine.

Aliens vs. Predator tells the story of a colonial base on a distant planet that finds itself at the unfortunate land of a showdown between a hive of Aliens and a hunting party of Predators.

Playing through the first-person shooter as a marine, an Alien and a Predator, gamers will piece together the story of what happened on Freya's Prospect Colony and the U.S.S. Marlow. Packed with weapons, over-the-top trophy kills and special moves.

The Predator: One of my favourite species to control, the Elite Predator gets three vision modes, normal vision,(as us humans see) heat vision for the marines, and alien vision. You have all of the predatorâ

This game was completely awesome. Loved playing and killing other dudes lol. This game is the best i've played so far and i hope the sequel will be in 3D. But it wasn't just the game, but also the story was great and something people wanted in a story. Expand

I have been playing all day and have yet to see what the bad reviews talk about. I don't see anything wrong with the visuals. The controls are fluid once you get used to them (plus there are many schemes to choose from). The sound is excellent taken straight from the alien movies, The gameplay is very good, all species feel different to play. The multiplayer is very good and feels fresh compared to other games. It's really fun to play species team deathmatch as well as other modes. If you are an avp fan then this game is the next best thing to the original alien and predator movies (not the two crappy avp). It feels as if you are watching "aliens" all over again which is a very good thing. In short it looks great, it plays great, it feels great and its worth its money. Sure it's not GOTY material or Killzone 3 but it is a very good game nonetheless and doesn't deserve any score below 7-8. Expand

Quite Honestly, The Single Player Campaigns Were Fun to Play, But The Face-Hugger Was Cut Out of The Game, From My Experience, The Face-Hugger was One of the Most Fun parts of the alien game play, i was disappointed. However the Multi-player game featured many different game types and a ranking system (i wont go into too much detail, not wanting to make this too lengthy), it kept me entertained for a long time, and i continue to play to this day. A lot of reviews I've read seem to agree with my position on the Face-hugger. Expand

The single player mode decent but old fashioned and will appeal to the oldies that once played Alien trilogy or Alien vs predator years ago. The multiplayer mode falls way short of the Mark set by the COD series .... Consider buying thisone from the bargain bin Expand

Well, based on the demo the negative reviews are correct in my opinion. The alien controls are hopelessly awkward, the environments are bland and dull to look at, the multi player maps are terrible and have areas you should be able to move over but cannot (invisible walls) and the game play just lacked any element of real enjoyment - I grew bored and stopped playing in less than a hour.
