  1. This is a great game. There are so many elements to this title that will knock your socks off. It is not the true NFL simulator that is Madden, but it is an awesome football game that plays better than the competition in many regards.

If you care about playing with Colts and Payton Manning, or you just have to have real teams and stadiums then Madden is your option. But if you want to play a good football game with the players of yesteryear then pick up All-Pro Football 2K8.
  3. The controls are tight, and the playbook is plenty deep. [Oct 2007, p.80]
  4. A lot of fun. It’s just that there’s not much here to keep the fun going unless you head online for the leagues or tournaments. While for the latest installments in an established series, it’s a bit of a disappointment. For the first installment of a promising, new series, it’s a pretty good start.
  5. If you’re looking for a deep single-player experience with a lot of modes and cutting edge presentation, leave All-Pro Football 2K8 on the bench. But if you’re simply looking for straight-up solid football to play online or with friends, All-Pro Football 2K8 answers the call.
  6. Even if it's not quite everything we hoped, we're pumped that 2K football is back in action. Let the competition begin - again.
  7. If this were a mid-level priced game, say $29.99, it would be a bargain, but to charge full price for a game that has so little in the way of off the field content is a tough pill to swallow.

WOW. This is a great alternative to Madden. Truly, give this one a shot. The legends add a new dimension to strategy (do I go for legends on WOW. This is a great alternative to Madden. Truly, give this one a shot. The legends add a new dimension to strategy (do I go for legends on offense, defense, or both?), and the gameplay is classic 2K goodness. The graphics are just OK - unless you're talking about the animations which blow pretty much every other sports game on the planet away. Support this game even if you're a Madden freak - let the companies know that exclusive sports licensing is NOT the way to go! Competition works, people, and this game rocks! Expand

If this Title was made with the current NFL It would be the best of All time. EA & Madden knows this. Thats why they retain the NFL rights.

Lack of franchise/modes only thing holding back this otherwise great game.

Great game play - more realistic than Madden. I love the AFPL and concept of an alternate League. Uniforms and Logos are great....but someGreat game play - more realistic than Madden. I love the AFPL and concept of an alternate League. Uniforms and Logos are great....but some of the Team Names could use changing. I love the Boston Minutemen, Philadelphia Americans, New York Knights, Washington Federals, St Louis Rhinos, Denver Cougars, Texas Rustlers, Dallas Gunslingers, Arizona Scorpions, Seattle Sailors, Atlanta Wasps, Detroit Firebirds, and Ohio Red Dogs. Names that didn't cut it were Las Vegas Rollers, San Francisco Sharks, Los Angeles Ledgens, New Jersey Assasians, Chicago Beasts, Pittsburgh Iron Men, Minneapolis Werewolves, Milwaukee Indians, Tampa Bay Top Guns, Carolina Cobras, and Miami Cyclones. If you are a Alternate Football League lover (think USFL!) then you will be in heaven! Oh yeah - the players faces could have been better (scary zombies!). Expand

This game is garbage and an utter disappointment. 2k should have stayed in the closet with this utterly lame and boring title.
