  1. This is a great game. There are so many elements to this title that will knock your socks off. It is not the true NFL simulator that is Madden, but it is an awesome football game that plays better than the competition in many regards.
  2. Beats "Madden," but looks ugly doing it. [Dec 2007, p.84]
  3. A lot of fun. It’s just that there’s not much here to keep the fun going unless you head online for the leagues or tournaments. While for the latest installments in an established series, it’s a bit of a disappointment. For the first installment of a promising, new series, it’s a pretty good start.
  4. Technically there's nothing wrong with the game -- had it released in 2006. While it's great to have Visual Concepts back, they definitely left room for improvement for All-Pro Football 2K9, and improvement is certainly what's needed for this next generation of football games.

Great game play - more realistic than Madden. I love the AFPL and concept of an alternate League. Uniforms and Logos are great....but some of the Team Names could use changing. I love the Boston Minutemen, Philadelphia Americans, New York Knights, Washington Federals, St Louis Rhinos, Denver Cougars, Texas Rustlers, Dallas Gunslingers, Arizona Scorpions, Seattle Sailors, Atlanta Wasps, Detroit Firebirds, and Ohio Red Dogs. Names that didn't cut it were Las Vegas Rollers, San Francisco Sharks, Los Angeles Ledgens, New Jersey Assasians, Chicago Beasts, Pittsburgh Iron Men, Minneapolis Werewolves, Milwaukee Indians, Tampa Bay Top Guns, Carolina Cobras, and Miami Cyclones. If you are a Alternate Football League lover (think USFL!) then you will be in heaven! Oh yeah - the players faces could have been better (scary zombies!). Collapse

This game is garbage and an utter disappointment. 2k should have stayed in the closet with this utterly lame and boring title.

No franchise mode. No quick play mode.
