  • Summary: Assassin's Creed II is the product of over two years of intensive development by the original creative team behind the Assassin's Creed brand. In a vast open world environment, the game invites players to incarnate Ezio, a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who's been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio's subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into an epic story that offers more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression that appeal to fans of the original Assassin's Creed as well as entice players new to the brand. 1. A huge improvement over the first game, Assassin’s Creed II offers up an enormous, beautiful open world that’s easy to get lost in, an epic storyline and all the fun that comes from creatively killing villains and tearing across 15th-century rooftops at ridiculous speeds.
  2. Assassin’s Creed II is a worthy successor of one the most intriguing new franchises we have seen in a long time.
  3. A huge improvement over the original, every element has been looked at and worked on making it a joy to play. Another must have top title.

AC2 is everything a sequel ought to be: An improvement on the original in nearly every way. Perhaps more impressively, it actually has me interested to see where the series goes from here -- something I wouldn't have expected after I slogged my way through the original. Anyone who enjoyed the first game will definitely like AC2, but the real accomplishment is that people who didn't enjoy it will likely have a good time, too.
  5. Assassin's Creed II is such an improvement compared to its predecessor that it feels like a completely new game, rather than just a sequel. The varied missions really shine and the narrative is very effective, in all it's Forrest Gump-esque glory. Despite the quite slow start, Ezios adventures in beautiful Florence and Venice both look and feel amazing, and are well worth experiencing to the very end.
  6. After the first game turned out to not be as good as expected, the interest in a sequel waned, but AC2 did a great job of redeeming itself and with any luck those who were turned off by the original will at least give the sequel a try, because it truly is a greatly improved game.
  7. To say the least, Assassin’s Creed II is a disappointment – not because it’s bad, but because we were promised so much more. Everything Ubisoft claimed they were changing has stayed the same, and what little new touches they’ve included fail to impact in the long run.

Probably the best game i've played, ever. The story is interesting and complex, the gameplay is brilliant (fixed every bad thing from the first game) and the graphics make you feel like you're really in 1500 and in Italy. Amazing. Expand

I'd give this game a 9.5, but he had the best franchise history, a great evolution in graphics and gameplay of the first to him, but no better than the current titles (Assassin's III and IV) gameplay, but still deserves your respect. Expand

This game was near perfect but gets one point deducted for making me nearly throw my controller through the TV when the credits start rolling. Epic cliffhanger but wished they had put a bit of assassins creed 3 on the end to ease the wait. Expand

after playing the first one I wasn't expecting much, but knew this one got some good reviews and knew there had to have been a reason. I started playing and this one really took of. But unlike the first one that after taking off landed rather quickly this one continued to fly. I more involved in the story, I enjoyed the characters and finding different object in the map to complete different objectives. I enjoyed the cities and thought that this game corrected everything and really pushed the open world game forward. I loved the combat as I enjoyed it in the first game and am looking forward to playing the next one in the series. Expand

Personally i prefer the original but that doesn't mean that this is not good as well. Maybe it was because of the historical location. I think that the middle age of AC1 was better retracted than the renaissance of AC2. In spite of these minor details it's always satisfying to play the AC series. It's a reference of this generation's gaming. Expand
