In a vast open world environment, the game invites players to incarnate Ezio, a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who's been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio's subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into an epic story that offers more variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, diverse weapons and a profound character progression that appeal to fans of the original Assassin's Creed as well as entice players new to the brand. 1. A huge improvement over the first game, Assassin’s Creed II offers up an enormous, beautiful open world that’s easy to get lost in, an epic storyline and all the fun that comes from creatively killing villains and tearing across 15th-century rooftops at ridiculous speeds.
  2. Assassin’s Creed II is a worthy successor of one the most intriguing new franchises we have seen in a long time.
  3. A huge improvement over the original, every element has been looked at and worked on making it a joy to play. Another must have top title.

AC2 is everything a sequel ought to be: An improvement on the original in nearly every way. Perhaps more impressively, it actually has me interested to see where the series goes from here -- something I wouldn't have expected after I slogged my way through the original. Anyone who enjoyed the first game will definitely like AC2, but the real accomplishment is that people who didn't enjoy it will likely have a good time, too.
  5. Assassin's Creed II is such an improvement compared to its predecessor that it feels like a completely new game, rather than just a sequel. The varied missions really shine and the narrative is very effective, in all it's Forrest Gump-esque glory. Despite the quite slow start, Ezios adventures in beautiful Florence and Venice both look and feel amazing, and are well worth experiencing to the very end.
  6. After the first game turned out to not be as good as expected, the interest in a sequel waned, but AC2 did a great job of redeeming itself and with any luck those who were turned off by the original will at least give the sequel a try, because it truly is a greatly improved game.
  7. To say the least, Assassin’s Creed II is a disappointment – not because it’s bad, but because we were promised so much more. Everything Ubisoft claimed they were changing has stayed the same, and what little new touches they’ve included fail to impact in the long run.

First I tried to play but just couldn't go on 'cause game sucked heavily. Later on I gave it a second go and got addicted. With over 50 hours of game-play and platinum trophy unlocked (yey!) that was money well spent. And I got refunded amount of 19,99 euros in trade for LBP 2. Expand

This game is probably the most improved sequel outside of Just cause 2 ever, almost everything the original game failed at this game succeedsThis game is probably the most improved sequel outside of Just cause 2 ever, almost everything the original game failed at this game succeeds massively with. The combat is far better and the missions are varied. The story is so much better as instead of playing as a faceless assassin like in the first game, you're a charming Italian guy who injects a much needed sense of humor into the game. The environments are more varied and much nicer than the original and the fantastic parkour remains fun. The soundtrack is also very well done and even memorable at times. The game is also very lengthy taking hours upon hours to do everything. Only problem is the best strategy in combat is still to keep countering and blocking constantly and two of the 14 sequences are DLC which is a bit unfair. Other than that though It's a fantastic sequel and great game. Expand

Personally i prefer the original but that doesn't mean that this is not good as well. Maybe it was because of the historical location. I thinkPersonally i prefer the original but that doesn't mean that this is not good as well. Maybe it was because of the historical location. I think that the middle age of AC1 was better retracted than the renaissance of AC2. In spite of these minor details it's always satisfying to play the AC series. It's a reference of this generation's gaming. Expand
