    Revelations closes the Assassin's Creed journey with a familiar looking videogame, but with a new iteration so epic and amazing as you might expect. It's a worthy end for the first volume of the series.

    Those who didn't like previous game won't enlist in the Assassin guild, but it is must-have for fans of the series as it reveals some secrets of the story. Shorter than the previous games, but with a better story, it consolidates the multiplayer mode adding extra variety.

    Nearly everyone who's kept up with Assassin's Creed thus far will feel like the latest falls a little short of catipulting Ezio and company past the previous outing. These yearly releases are truly a double-edged hidden blade. If the overarching plot kept moving forward at its previous pace, I'd be faulting it for leaving so many gamers behind. In this case, it'll disappoint the most dedicated fans by retreading a lot of ground to keep everyone up to speed.

    It's a compelling experience that takes what you'd expect from Assassin's Creed, refines it and then adds some stellar new features. And when it all ends, you'll experience the closure of old plot threads and the paving of new ones. Until that story is explored in the next game, you've still got the rest of Revelations to get on with – side quests, multiplayer, renovations, recruiting Assassins and much more.

    ACR has its shortcomings, but they're nothing compared to the pleasure this title delivers. Large, more polished and varied, quite pretty and offering an adventure and a story more enticing than ever, the solo play doesn't disappoint, even though it's still based on the same tricks and elements established a few episodes ago. It may be time to alter the formula. Ben even so, the multiplayer has been refined, all the while becoming more accessible. Overall, it's an action-adventure must-have.

    Revelations is a fantastic game, and is more than worth your money, but a repetitive mission structure and the fact that the game is still following Ezio is rather disappointing. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives, with the game an improvement over Brotherhood in almost every way, making it one of this holiday's must-haves.

    With the release of Revelations, Ubisoft have finally turned their initial concept into a truly unmissable game. Pulling the narrative together alongside some vital gameplay additions, this is the best, most complete Assassin's Creed title to date.

    A number of new features have been attempted to make Revelations feel new and different from its predecessors. In that quest for broader variety and a unique identity from the earlier games, Revelations makes some missteps that are hard to ignore. However, the game offers more of what has been great about the franchise, and that should be enough to bring most fans to the table, even if it a poor starting point for new players.

    However, unlike Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which came off feeling entirely like filler, Revelations has just enough assassiny goodness to sate your bloodlust while also feeling very important to understanding all of the heroes so far, even Desmond.

    It's bigger, more enjoyable and quite better than its predecessors. But the formula has now been used too much. Ubisoft needs to make some major changes in the next installment.

    You won't find a lot of innovation here, but the same formula still stands its ground. Den defense is a bit underwhelming and the graphics engine starts showing its age, but nevertheless fans should not hesitate to pick this one up.

    Revelations is a quality adventure, a complete package filled with spectacle, great presentation and replayability. The game does have some bugs and new players won't be as engrossed as people who have been following the series since the beginning.

    A great game. It just stumbles when it tries to implement strangely conceived new features that don't quite work. This includes Desmond's memory traversal ('snore') and tower defense, which is just unnecessary. Even the bombs felt unnecessary to me. But beneath it all lies the same stellar foundation that has allowed past installments to become beloved adventures in the eyes of millions.

    Sure, it doesn't change the mold with endless features, but it refines what has become one of the best new experiences of this generation. If you are invested in these characters, prepare for an awesome ride as you close out the Ezio, Altair and Desmond chapters of this series.

    The beginning of Revelations is really bad. But luckily, you would even thank god for that, the game will recover once you're further in it. The epic action you'd expect from Ezio and Altaïr is back, making Revelations another great game in the series.

    While Revelations didn't resonate with me as much as Assassin's Creed 2 did, it did a great job of wrapping up the Ezio trilogy. Polished graphics and gameplay, a complex fascinating story, and diversity in missions and locations are on the forefront of why Revelations is a great experience.

    This is the best Assassin's Creed yet, even if that victory is claimed by an inch and not a mile. If you've been following the lives of Altair and Ezio this long, you owe it to yourself to see their last adventure.

    The old Ezio has a few new tricks up his sleeves: he plays around with a wide array of explosives and makes use of a brand new gadget, the Hookblade, to travel around town much more quickly. The only downside to all of this is that it doesn't add much to the gameplay. [December 2011, p.58]

    While Revelations lacks that one supreme improvement or standout mechanic that defined AC2 and Brotherhood each, it's still a damn fine sendoff for Altair and Ezio.

    Assassin's Creed: Revelations is still an adventure that no fan should be without, if only because it leads right into the next chapter. At the same time, the underwhelming start to an otherwise intriguing story, alongside changes that seem more cosmetic than practical, makes it seem that the formula hasn't aged as well as Ezio has.

    This new entry in the series has almost the same gameplay and visuals, but it delivers a fun experience, with some new features and an engaging story. It's probably the game that every fan of previous games expected it to be.

    On the bright side, the game usually sticks to what it does best. And what Revelations does best is to set you free in a magnificent city, where you skyrocket across the rooftops, letting the gorgeous sights and evocative music transport you to another life and another century.

    I was worried when Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood came out just a year after Assassin's Creed II. Fortunately, Brotherhood had enough going right for it that the yearlong development cycle didn't hurt the franchise. Though I doubt the lack of innovations in Revelations is going to damage the Assassin's Creed series, I definitely feel burned by Ubisoft on this one.

    The game lacks a coherent story, visual polish, and meaningful new gameplay elements. Though running around and stabbing people is still fun, Revelations has lost some of the spark that made its predecessors feel so amazing.

    Assassin's Creed Revelations will satisfy those who are looking for more of the same but if you're expecting some major innovations, prepare to be disappointed. Revelations isn't a bad game, but the experience no longer feels fresh.

    At its core, this is the Assassin's Creed we've grown to love in recent years, and it still serves as a pretty good time sink -- plus, it's a necessary bridge to next year's already-announced follow-up. But obligation shouldn't be the primary reason to play something, and sadly, that's too often the case in this humdrum campaign.

    More than any other episode of the series, Revelations shows the limits of its gameplay - it is high time to revise. Yet Constantinople is a beautiful playground, full of things to do. The story provides some surprises and takes us into a pleasant adventure. All this is in addition to supporting a fully fleshed out multiplayer...But in the end it left a bitter taste left in my mouth.

    While Ezios final chapter is a fun romp through Istanbul, it could just have well been incorporated into Brotherhood with a bit of editing. The saving grace is the fleshed-out multiplayer modes and the interesting effects the bombs have on it. With a bit of luck the series will get back on track after the two latest interim-games, so fingers crossed that Assassin's Creed III dares to evolve the series as much as the second game did.

    So, for the first time, a new Assassin's Creed game is worse than its predecessor, the first time the short development period has had a noticeable impact on the game's quality. It's a game of nearlies and might-have-beens: summed up by the hookblade, a supposedly key new feature which in practice merely extends Ezio's reach slightly, and allows him to glide down the occasional zipline.

    Building on the foundation of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Revelations had a fantastic opportunity. Sadly it is wasted on annoying mini games and uninspired escort missions.

    In the end, Revelations mostly feels like a step backwards that was probably rushed to market just to satisfy the need for a yearly installment.

Stands up to it's name and builds upon the already solid storyline of the game and keeps us hooked every minute. Even though some might complain it's almost the same as the previous titles. But I don't believe they need to HAVE a new gameplay mechanic in every game. When you have a story such as this, it needs to be told on an annual basis and the gameplay need not be revamped every year. Even then they did have their fair share of improvements such as the hookblades and Desmond's memories. The only thing which they went a bit far with was the Tower Defense minigame, which seemed to be a nuisance to say the least.

    Other than that, visually appealing as always and well worth the money. I for one hope they don't stray far from their winning formula and don't succumb to adding new gameplay features for each iteration of their game.

The only real new thing, is the hookblade, with which you can travel a little bit faster through the (btw incredible) world. Constantinople is an amazing city, with beautifull landmarks. Who doesn't want to freerun through Constantinople and be an assassin, using the crowd to get to his target? The story isn't amazing, but it does the job to end the trilogy. There are a few little bugs, but that is overshadowed by all the good things. Full Review »

It doesn't have the unique feel the 2 predecessors had, On the other two you remembered at what place you were at just by looking around, on this one everyplace seems to be the same... It wasn't very special for ezio's storyline either, the game only gave us missions to go after some stuff to get access to altair's memories and help the other assassins without any real, solid objective. The Den missions are boring. The side quests are not fresh anymore, so they're not very great. But yeah, overall it was a good game and it throws us on a good place for the next one, which I think it's going to be a blast. Full Review »
