I owned every PS3 version of Blazblue, and I never reviewed it before so I'm kinda usinig this as my overall review of the series without getting into the fact that this is a rehash. ... I went from SF4 to Blazblue at first. I just though it was funner. But it just couldn't hold my interest like SF4. I don't care about story, I don't know why anybody does in a fighting game (I actually no longer care about story in ANY game. Give me gameplay, that's why I play games). I wish there was a tag mode. The characters are incredibly diverse but that brings me to a problem: i like fighter weird chars but I don't like playing as one, and this game only has a few options for normal chars. I know that's the point, but it doesn't quite work for me. It's a personal thing, but as you can see by my score, it doesn't bother me that much. A great 2d fighter, and one of the reasons I play 2d fighters the majority of the time (nothing beats Virtua Fighter though). Expand

This is the best version of a great game. In terms of single player game modes this wipes the floor with Super Street Fighter 4. The problem is the online mode, not that there's technically anything wrong with it but it just seems like there aren't enough people playing this game which is a shame. You often find yourself being matched against the same couple of players and getting anyone to join a team match is pretty much impossible. If you want a 2D fighter for multiplayer get SSF4, if you want a 2D fighter for single player get this. Expand

If you're a fan of fighting games, you will absolutely love BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. It has a ton of modes, it looks beautiful and it even has a good storyline. However, the lack of content is what will stop people who have played the previous games, from buying this one.
  2. Without a doubt the best and most expansive BlazBlue out there, but we still expected a little bit more content. If you already have dowloaded all the DLC for Blazblue's previous outing, there's only one extra character two new modes. [April 2012, p.94]

There haven't been any significant changes to the prior versions - its more like a complete version of the original.
