It may not share the same rarified air as Microsoft's genre-leading "Crimson Skies", but Blazing Angels 2 elevates the franchise a helluva lot closer. [Dec 2007, p.66]
Ubisoft Romania has done a great job in making a sequel that one-ups its predecessor in every way, from innovative gameplay in a by-the-books-genre, to a full-bodied multiplayer experience.
Though it falls well short of greatness it does manage to be pretty good, and the multitude of upgrades make for a huge improvement over the original.
Better looking, better sounding, and better gameplay should be a winner in anyone's book, so if you liked Blazing Angels but hoped for more, then your prayers have been answered. It isn't perfect, but getting to fly futuristic jets and take down giant Nazi zeppelins goes a long way to balancing out the problems!
If you’ve not played a flying game before and have the impression that they are mind numbingly boring with added beeping then perhaps the arcade antics of Blazing Angels 2 could sway you.
Excellent multiplayer options and a lengthy single player campaign manage to add up to a commendable air combat experience.
The game comes so close to hitting its mark, but its unforgiving difficulty simply can't be ignored.
