The controls and graphics have not aged well, but underneath it all, it is still fun to earn some crazy money.

Crazy Taxi keeps all the good things that made it so fun ten years ago. It is a good arcade driving game, but Sega has missed the chance to offer improvements, new features or just a little enhancement to foster it.

It's a little overpriced, too, pushing the game out at a bargain price would have been a much better idea so the game becomes an instant impulse purchase.

Despite some of the sound issues, Crazy Taxi still looks great, plays great, and is sure to get everyone from the hardcore to the casual involved.

Crazy Taxi has a great design and lots of challenges, but Sega should have put some extra work into the driving physics.

The trouble is, after half an hour you'd be wondering why you got so excited in the first place, switching shuffle back on swiftly.

Crazy Taxi is not a bad game if you take it for what it is. It is designed to provide an entertaining experience a few minutes at a time.

The essence of Crazy Taxi is still here and, at its core, this is still an enjoyable game. It just isn't going to satisfy anyone who cared at all for SEGA's final gaming console.

The added HD treatment is a bit of a disappointment though. [Jan 2011, p.118]

Obviously, after eleven years the visuals haven't fared so well either. Back in the pre-GTA days Sega's take on San Fran was drool-worthy. Nowadays it's like driving through a bad cubist nightmare. Newer gamers who go in expecting some of the modern creature comforts – like traffic AI, lip synching or a physics system that makes a lick of sense – will be slapped in the face with a culture shock. Anyone who doesn't want their objective arrow to act like a broken ouija board won't like this game much either. [February 2011 p81]

It's Crazy Taxi as you already know it: if you've already played it, there's no reason at all to spend more money for the same deal.

Crazy Taxi is a nice bit of fun but can't really hold up as a straight port after all these years.

But the goal of a port whose appeal is laden in nostalgia is to bring that nostalgia on board, and unfortunately it's very apparent what is missing in this game.

The average round may only last 5-10 minutes, but the routes go all over the map, so each round can feel like different maps.

This version is close to how I remembered it from the arcade 15 years ago. The graphics are clear and sharp but maybe lack some 'shiny' quality I remember, and there's a surprising amount of pop-in, which sometimes can be slightly frustrating, but it doesn't happen close to the car. The lack of a wheel and pedals maybe take some fun out of it, but the addition of a game mode of tiny separate challenge maps was a positive surprise.

The game has two sets of trophies: achieving all 4 ranks in standard game modes, and clearing four tiers of tiny challenge maps, but those challenges, like navigating a narrow twisting road surrounded by water, seem to require near-perfect mastery of the car, and few of them give room for even one mistake. So a 100% trophy completion is not a safe bet. Those who seek hard arcade challenges could be pleased though
