Interface is really the main problem with Create, whether it is the actual puzzle solving, level creation or even the navigation of the online component of the game. Nothing comes easy regardless of what controller you use.

I hope that EA goes back to this idea again eventually. If they do, they need to allow the player to actually CREATE things, fix the menus, and also allow for a little more open-ended gameplay. If they do, I would love to recommend it. Until then, it's worth a rental for the curious and not worth much else for those who aren't interested.

What we get here is a nice game, but it's only interesting for people who don't actually play a lot. Casual and core gamers as well will be left unchallenged.

Building your own Rube Goldberg machines is nicely relaxing, and Create is a game almost entirely devoid of stress factors. The perfect game for getting your pulse down after hours of shooting people online. It could do with more player freedom, and there's a tendency for quantity over quality, but overall it's a refreshing puzzle title.

A bunch of good ideas, yet the puzzles feels too easy and repetitive. It's got a great customization potential, allthough it will probably lack the big community to support it.

Create, despite being funny, is a bit overpriced for the offer. The gameplay gives only a little freedom and challenges are too easy.

Create is a nice attempt from EA at taking a bite of the Play.Create.Share cake but in the end, its lack of personality and limited appeal makes an extremely difficult game to love.

But it can be safely said that the bare bones are here, and Bright Light Studios have provided you with all the necessary tools to get you going. Ultimately the value of this title is up to you and what you do with it.

In the end, Create might be a decent option for the family, it works well with Move, there's a ton of ingenuity in many of the challenges, and the amount of satisfaction gleaned from completing a tough puzzle is worth the time invested.

Create is oriented to those who like puzzle-solving, but it is not remarkable within that genre. The control get tedious at times, and its map editor is not good enough.

It's the imagination of the developers that seems at fault here, not the player, with little real opportunity to create anything - just rearrange it.

This game's title is a massive misnomer. You don't "create" anything – you mess around with preset environments and then slap stickers all over it. You want to get the Create experience and save a few bucks? Buy a coloring book.

Create feels like a hodge-podge of small ideas that don't add up to a satisfying whole.

Even among adults, the game is certainly a test of patience and perseverance. Create isn't exactly what it calls itself, but it will get the job done for puzzle-heads looking for a quick fix.

Between the uninspired puzzles and numbing repetition, it's especially difficult to recommend Create. As a puzzle game, it's shallow and monotonous; as a creative sandbox, it's extremely light on stuff to do.
  16. Repetition does set in before too long, and holding a button and contorting your arm with Move controls to rotate an object is a bit annoying, but Create is kid safe and kid fun. [Jan 2011, p.83]

With an undeniable charm, simple toolset and a decent lifespan, Create is worth checking out if you're looking for an inventive, harmless bit of puzzling fun. [Issue#104, p.120]

A family game that you can personalize in some aspects, with a good use of the physics engine and the possibility to participate in a real community including your creations. Funny and unusual, but only for a handful of hours.

Endless possibilities but the creation isn't as much of a hook as it could have been. [Jan 2011, p.87]
  20. Oddly compelling. [Christmas 2010]

There's little here to keep you coming back to previously conquered levels beyond your own personal drive. [Issue#199, p.95]

With its Ikea backdrops and clipart objects, Bright Light has perhaps paid too much attention to functionality and not enough to form. [Christmas 2010, p.90]

If pushed and polished, Create could have been a rewarding experience. Instead, it feels like EA Bright Light needed some inspiration of its own. [Jan 2011, p.82]
