    For the most dedicated puzzle fanatics, Cubixx HD will likely become a quick favorite, with an abundance of levels, modes, and leaderboards to compete on. However, due to some unfortunate design decisions, the majority of its players will likely never see all that it has to offer.

    The heroic thing about it all is that Laughing Jackal manages to reinvent Qix in a way that has evidently been completely beyond Taito for the past 30 years.

    Cubixx HD is probably a great game for people who like a challenge because as you get closer to the 50th level you have many more enemies on screen and tons of laser chasers following you so you really have to think on your toes or fingers, whatever the case may be. At the low price of 9.99 on PSN it's not at all expensive, but just not the sort of game I would pay that much for.

    Overall, this game can be incredibly addicting and frustrating but if you are a huge fan of puzzle games, the $9.99 pricetag could make it worth it.

    In the world of Qix clones, Cubixx HD does enough to separate itself with a variety of challenges and some interesting modes. It loses some points for not including any online in a game that offers 8-player co-op though.

    This incredibly addictive, though often frustrating game is at its best when you're playing with friends. Which makes the absence of an online multiplayer mode all the more surprising.

    Considering what you get for the price, Cubixx HD is a worthy investment that offers up tons of challenging game modes in a package that not only looks great, but plays great as well.

    Unique, entertaining, surprisingly diverse, and quite addictive. There's a lot of ingenuity and creativity here, and Laughing Jackal should be applauded for the effort.

    It's much better than the Minis version, even if it's based on exactly the same principles, so if you liked what you played on the PSP – get this when it releases tomorrow.

    If you do decide to pick it up, be sure you do so with the understanding that it is a game best played in quick spurts. If you are looking for something deeper, or more addicting, this isn't the game for you.

    Despite the fact that HD Cubixx is sometimes frustrating (in a good way), this is surely a game that everyone should try out. Not only does the core gameplay come from a retro piece of 1980's genuis, but also the game is very fun to play, especially with the additions Laughing Jackal have made to the scoring and and enemy types. Wonderful music and beautiful graphics are sure to please anyone who trys it.
    The only downside is a lack of online play, which would be great. Playing splitscreen is amazing, but it would be nice to try this game on multiplayer at full screen size .

    Me being the old fogey I am I remember playing the original Qix back in the early 80's. So when Cubixx was released as a PSN mini I was very intrigued and parted with my money. The idea of having six playing areas is terrific idea. So like most I was sceptical when Cubixx HD was released. Was it just Cubixx in HD? After reading a number of reviews it was clear that the team had worked their magic and added loads of new features. Not only does my TV show that the game runs in 1080p but the game how boasts 50 arcade levels, a variety of challenges, leaderboards and split screen 7 player multiplayer. Personally haven't chance to do this but the 7 player stuff in the trailer does look totally chaotic. There are many classic arcades games out there that have had the 21 Century twist applied and this is certainly up there with the best of them. Definitely recommended.… Full Review »

    This game is simply PERFECT. The old-school Wolfied has turned into a three dimensional thrill with it. The arcade mode is long, the challenges are fun and the remaining game modes (Score, time and line attacks) are there to keep you busy for a "very" long time. The three dimensional touch to an old, classic game couldn't have been any better than this. It's the perfect implementation of a great idea. And the bonus is playing levels with up to 7 players and the death match mode to compete with friends. An addictive and fun game that deserves much more credit.
