The game isn’t fun at all (including the pathetically limited multiplayer options which aren’t worth going into)...It’s just frustrating that Dark Sector, with all the trappings of a good game, could squander nearly every single one of them with bad level design, poor logic, repetitive combat, and no attention to what made its inspiration so…inspiring.
  2. Between the dreary action, the sluggish movement speed, and the seemingly tacked-on multiplayer, you’ll probably want to pass on the whole thing.
  3. Every aspect of this game is horribly average, derivative, unpolished, or worse. Half-assed, floaty, imprecise character movement. Half-assed melee combat. Half-assed cover mechanic. Half-assed weapon upgrade system. Half-assed sound design and mixing. Quarter-assed story. No-assed AI.

This game maybe has muddy graphics and was released many years ago... but it was fun... the story, the graphics and all that stuff... still very good and beautiful too. You won't think that the graphics looks bad, you won't feel that the game is boring, because it's still very beautiful and has a good story telling. Actually still one of the best games even though we are in 2012 right now. You never do the same things, you always get suprised in the story and way you develope your weapons... many good things. The game is almost for free these days. Buy it maaaaaan. It won't hurt... you have to try this game out before you die one day. Full Review »

From now on, I'll be honest. Look, by the time I'm writing this review, this game is at least 7 years old, so I don't expect a lot of you will stumble upon my review, but if you do, please take a time to read it.
Now, since I got my PS3, I went to my nearest videogame store to check the new games they had. So some time this game appeared, but it was too costy, I never wanted to play that game by looking at the cover. Now let's jump in summer 2015. I was at another videogame store and I saw the game at like 1,50$, so why not give him a chance (I mean, between you and me, at that cost, if the game was crappy, I wouldn't loose much). So I went back home, popped the disc and started the campain. First thing that came to mind and a lot of other reviews will tell you: Yes the game looks like it copied it's engine and gameplay to make it like an average 3rd person shooter with cover elements, so the first level I was thinking: Well, it's bad, really bad, even the graphics don't shine at all and the voice acting is miserable; this without mentionning the crappy AI, the ''believable characters'' and the ''complex and conveluded'' story. So, at that point, not counting the ridiculous cost I paid it, the game would've been 2/10 for at least offering a good challenge and still being able to progress to the level without glitches. Now, at the ending cutscene of the first level came something expected (if you saw the cover for the least): The game gives your character the glaive, an intersting element that will be upgraded throughout the game, acquiring new abilities by beating bosses. You can also upgrade your guns and replenish your ammo at secret resistance bunkers hidden in the sewers.*Whipes sweat of his forehead* Now it's a 5/10, average. Then, coming at the end of level 8, the game almost.. no... litertally made me jump out of my chair and cheering. (Mom was cooking dinner, she had always heard me yelling and swearing s**t while playing videogames, but never cheer, never.) Ok, some people like cars, some like sports, some even like stamps, but I LOVE armor. (Catch my drift?) Out of the blue, in a cutscene, you recieve an armor, that makes you look badass, the way it gets attached on you, the way you don't see it coming, the look... it was the only move the game could do for me to give it a hardly earned 8/10.
    Thanks for listening.
