framerate sucks (on X360 was ok)
    - audio glitches
    - boss battles sucks if u dont have special weapons (or/and heath kits)
    - boring driving (and steering sucks)
    - too big and empty open world (doest encourage to do side quests)

Other that that... interesting story and atmosphere.

This is, in many ways, Twin Peaks the video game. Often absurd, sometimes brilliant, occasionally dreadful, but always compelling. Answers to the myriad of questions are marginally more satisfactory in the director's cut and perhaps the best thing that can be said about the new content (cutscenes) is that they bring a degree of internal consistency to the narrative. Play this game. You might hate or love it (perhaps both?) but whatever happens it'll make you'll feel *something*... and that is more than can be said for most video games. Expand

An unique and important game with a fantastic story and characters. To bad this "definite" Director's Cut version has grave problems with framerate and sound that were absent in the 360 version.

While still retaining the great story, characters and adding a bit more with 5 minutes of extra footage setting the game up for a sequel, the game has bit of problems that have been added as well that stem from washed out visuals, very choppy framerate and the sound design being hampered in lots of areas such as when agent York has conversations with his Zach, (the voice in his head) the sound starts becoming like listening to someone talking into a can. While these problems wont turn away most newcomers, existing fans should probably stick to the original due to the problems mentioned, lack of difficulty settings limiting you to just play easy mode, and not much new content other than new suits or the new footage before and after each chapter. For newcomers or people that don't have an xbox though, this game is a must buy and should be played by any gamer who loves survival horror, twin peaks or just plain insanity. It's still a great game, but just missing out on the deep red or green filters that gave the original such an atmosphere bugged me a bit. They may have taken the green out of Greenvale a bit and given you a blue cement lake, but it's still worth a purchase to at least bring in support for a sequel, because games like this are few and far between these days. One factor may cause people to think this game is not worth picking up is totally its dated graphics, which is more due to its low budget. PS3 version resolution is increased to 720P, the camera scale and view is much better and there are so many graphical enhancements in comparison to Xbox version, but sure it does still looks quiet outdated, smt between PS2 and PS3 era.
    However, game do
es manage to have a very interesting plot which engages u in it, its filled with weird and interesting characters, creepy enemies, horrifying moments and finally a much more pleasing ending than the xbox version due to involving more cut scenes.
Its a an open world survival horror game, smt which comes out rarely, its hard to manage to build a good open world mixed with horror theme, but as the matter of fact the team somehow managed to make it quiet good, through out the game, story is being told interestingly, you get chance to drive your car around the town and explore different places, and of course u will end up fighting monsters. Good news is the combat system and control scheme have been improved quiet much and made the game playable. Some people werent able to continue the game on Xbox due to the issues it had and its difficulty level. Fortunately PS3 version is balanced out very well and there are not so many problems with it,
Finally, its one of those types of games that whether you will enjoy or you will hate it for rest of your life. But i do recommend it for fans of horror games because truly its really better than mistakes konami and capcom have made by injecting too much action elements in their legendary horror games such as RE and SH.
if you arent fan of horror game, well better dont pick it up

i played zombiu for wiiu when it came out and that was really great, but this is great in a different way. i think the plot is a bit more in depth and some of the character development schemes are more elaborate. the levels are short but the difficulty becomes way harder, seemingly impossible, about halfway through. check it out for sure.

At once unforgivably terrible and accidentally brilliant, Deadly Premonition remains a gaming anomaly. And no amount of directorial cutting is going to change that. [Issue#135, p.115]

The last creature of Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro keeps its promises only partially, offering unacceptable graphics, a survival horror game that doesn't scare at all and not so brilliant mechanics. Nonetheless, there's something invisible, an empathic link making the whole thing an oiled mechanism. Survive to the first 20 minutes, and you'll never forget your stay in Greendale.

Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut has made me think about the things that defines a good or bad game. Sure, the presentation is truly terrible, but beneath the technical flaws I find a game that offers a deep, involving story and tons of weird humor. It's a game unlike any other, in the best way possible.
