Even if the tunes aren't all things to all players, that shouldn't hold anyone back from putting cash down and picking up one of the most original games to grace consoles for some time. DJ Hero 2 is sublime.
  2. Oct 20, 2010
Along with FreeStyleGames critical examination of every bit of DJ Hero and their effort to improve everything, they have succeeded beyond measure and created a title that no music fan should pass up.
  3. Oct 28, 2010
DJ Hero 2 has what people want from a well made sequel, enhancing the better parts of the original, broadening what has to offers, and at the same time having its own personality while mantaining the essence of the previous game.
  4. Dec 21, 2010
It is a great example of what this genre can offer.
  5. Feb 2, 2011
Even when considering the aforementioned caveats, DJ Hero 2 is a very good game, and it is surely a nice step up from the original title.

The tracks are still awesome. [Christmas 2010, p.90]

DJ Hero is a lot of fun, although some hardcore DJ and audio engineering types might complain that it offers little of the creative freedom of spinning. Multiplayer modes have been improved, however.

DJ Hero 2 is one of the best music games in years. Following up with the same popular and innovative gameplay mechanics of the previous DJ Hero, the second game provides a much more up to date setlist, much more music and better multiplayer options.
Though the gameplay hasn't changed from the original game, the setlist has become more up to date and increased its number of songs to 105 (with 95 mixes unique to the game) meaning you can tap, scratch and crossfade your way through hours of new songs. Though the songs are, on the whole, less varied than last time round you are bound to recognise 90% of them and club dance fanatics will probably recognise them all.
Multiplayer has been redesigned, now 2 turntables & 1 microphone can be used at any time compared to the 1 deck & 1 guitar of last time. Though the extra deck is a great idea the vocals are difficult to get used to as the songs are jumbled up and will frequently change into different songs making it difficult for even the biggest fan of the song to get used to.
That's pretty much DJ Hero 2 in a nutshell, it does nothing new but why change what wasn't broken, it provides a bigger, more up to date setlist but does seem to lose its variety and multiplayer is a much better affair with the 2 turntable decks rather than a guitar.
DJ Hero 2 is a must own game for any music game fan

No game is fun if you don't know what's going on and DJ Hero is one of those games that requires you to overcome the learning curve to reap the benefits. Solo play is out of the question as DJ Hero should be left on to entertain your guests by ear and/or by a several hands. Expand

Fun game, great to play with lots of people, and there are several good updates from the first one. The song selection is pretty decent as well. The one part I was not satisfied with was the singing part, as it seems like it's just an aspect of the game they decided to throw on in the end. Otherwise, as more songs will be available through the online store, I believe the game will be better Expand

The best game on the PS3 in my opinion, but I've only played a couple of them. The soundtrack is really, really bad, and is all electronic and remixed crap. But what else can you really expect from a game entitled Dj Hero 2? The gameplay is a fun and fairly easy twist to the GH franchise and, again, another great title for PlayStation lovers by Activision. Expand
