The gameplay in Genji isn’t superb but it’s fairly satisfying. It isn’t the most memorable game available, but you will have fun for the 10 hours or so that the game lasts.
Graphically, it's almost there but the gameplay felt like something I'd seen from multiple PS2 games in the past.

A game that came out in the heyday of PlayStation games in the past and couldn't fade.
However, if it came out in this era, it is a game that can be re-evaluated and heard a great masterpiece.
Sword, armor, and main character are cool.

The fixed camera angle is absolutely awful, but besides that, the game is surprisingly fun with nice graphics, a confusing as hell story, and overall, i don’t think I would be too mad if I got it.

It's slick and it's fast, and when the fighting flows you can almost forget about the flaws. But really, it's just another game where you run from one area to another, clearing room after room of enemies and, graphics apart, it never truly surprises or impresses. [Jan 2007, p.78]
Beneath the gleaming surface lies an old heart that’s just about had it. Days of the Blade gets half the formula right. Sadly, it’s the wrong half. In the end, fans of the original should take a look, but anyone looking for a true next-generation action title will need to wait.
Genji: Days of the Blade may have passed for a launch-title on the Playstation 2 in terms of gameplay, but on the Playstation 3 it is bland, repetitive and asinine.
As a PS2 game, Days of the Blade might have been good. But this is next-gen country, where the expectations are high. [Jan. 2007, p.74]
An archaic combat engine, pitiful level design, a crushingly dull and unnecessary story and level of galling frustration that reaches and often surpasses even Stuntman for sheer annoyance all add up to the one PS3 launch game nobody should consider for even a second. [Feb 2007, p.122]
Genji is not a bad game by any means. It suffered at launch with its rep being destroyed even before launch because an idiotic American Marketing rep sat in front of a screen playing Genji, telling a reporter " It was very important that the game be authentic to the Japenese time period and be historicly acurate". Mean while the game was playing in the back ground with the player fighting giant crabs and doing magic and lift objects thats weighed tons.. The game didnt stand a chance , media had made up their mind it was a joke.. The game is actually alot of fun and stuningly beutifull, even by todays standards.. It plays similar to the Onimusha series, but dosent hit the highs of that franchise. The combat isnt as satisfying and progresion isnt as interesting.
It just a real shame this Japanese game made by a pashionate Japanese studio, about their own countries history was ruined by one moron American, that couldnt even be bothered learning about the game he was meant to be promoting. It was the " Need for Speed Payback " moment of its time.

Beat'em Up básico que peca pela falta de rapidez e jogabilidade. O jogo procura explorar a ideia de se jogar com várias personagens, cada um com o seu playstyle e habilidades, mas nenhum além do personagem principal são enjoyable de se jogar.

Du classique japoniais, balance des coups de sabre à droite à gauche et recommence, des fois donne des coups de katana en avant ou en arrière, saute, fais des pirouettes avec le stick droit... mais du coup impossible de contrôler la caméra qui reste fixe et mal placée la plupart du temps puisque c'est le jeu qui décide.
Pas vraiment ouvert, c'est un gros couloir entrecoupé de cinématiques bien niaises impossibles à zapper. Cela étant c'est assez joli, si, si, et on peut avoir les voix en japonais (toujours un grand moment de détente), c'est pour ça je lui mets 2 quand même.

This was my first ever game on the PS3 and I tried my best to enjoy it, I really did. The upside was that the graphics were awesome. The downside was everything else. Level design was pretty atrocious. Weapons felt pretty useless. Camera angles were terrible and responsible for so many unnecessary deaths. This is possibly the only game I can remember that I did not finish. I wasn't even close. I even booted it up multiple times after my initial attempts at it, but I still had no luck with it. The game is rampant with artificial difficulty and probably not worth your time.

This game is flat out awful. One of the worst games I've ever played. Bad graphics. Terrible voice acting, so atrociously bad and goes along perfectly with the incredibly bad story. It's your basic action game with a slight RPG-eqsue system to build up your characters. The camera angle **** sometimes you can be off screen with your character. This is a game you recommend to someone to torture them. It's repetitive gameplay mixed with graphics that I don't even believe are in true HD form the perfect pile of awfulness within this bad title.
