Despite some frame rate issues and no other new stuff besides a few cheats, cars, bikes, choppers and weapons, it is a much lighter game than GTA IV and has lots of cool stuff. If you have GTA IV, then you must have this one.

The Ballad of Gay Tony is the second of the episodic content for GTA 4 and follows the story of Luis, Tony Prince's 2IC. The main story sees Luis get into a whole lot of trouble and really is just the same structure of GTA4 and provides some great thrill in the missions. But the ridiculous dialogue is starting to get a bit stupid. I understand that this is GTA but this is just plain ridiculous, every single cutscene has some profanity in it and it is just plain ridiculous. This content isn't that bulky but the main new feature is the nightlife. Gay Tony is a club owner and Luis is the Operations Manager of those clubs. He can venture into 3 clubs and be a bouncer in 2 of them. The bouncer jobs are really just venturing between looking, throwing, sex and conversation so it gets a bit boring. You can also dance and drink at the clubs and you still get those looks when you fall down the stairs drunk as hell which is nice. There a couple of new weapons and vehicles and they add alot to the mix. But the best feature in this content was the base jumping, finally when i jump out of my helicopter (at a new higher altitude) I can land safely or just fall from a higher distance. Minor graphics improvements are included and a couple of new songs and thats about it.
Gameplay-10-GTA gameplay is still the same old awesomeness
Sound-8-Some of those club songs get really annoying
Graphics-9-Minor improvements make it look slightly better
Value-6-$30 for some new weapons and a couple of new features is ridiculous
Story-8-Great moments and funny albeit stupid dialogue
Overall-41/50-A great addition to the game but a bit lackluster in content

Its like a whole other game.. This is the Best DLC this gen. Period , the graphics are better than normal GTA IV, more variety in mission, more fun. I think its an amazing even if it was released as a full game.

The Ballad of Gay Tony encourages us to visit Liberty City one last time, and succeeds tremendously. It follows the formula of The Lost and Damned to the core: a new story arc that runs parallel to the main one, featuring a new main character. And Rockstar proves once again that they are masters at the art of turning common criminal people into likable heroes. Luis Lopez, the new guy, is a stereotype-evading ''bouncer with a brain'' at a local nightclub under the management of the eccentrically funny Gay Tony. The text shared between these two opposite characters is masterful, enhanced further with perfect voice acting (an all-times standard for the Grand Theft Auto series). This story arc closes the Trinity, the union of all three GTA IV story arcs, and closes it with perfection, tying up all loose ends that were left. The extra activities are an improvement from The Lost and Damned, and once again Rockstar gave special attention to details as every menu and screen display was altered to fit the new ''fabulous'' style of The Ballad of Gay Tony. If you have played Grand Theft Auto IV, take this invitation back into Liberty City. You will not regret it. Expand

  1. The Ballad of Gay Tony again takes the cheeky and impossible spirit of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and brings it back to life with the fantastic technology from GTA IV. An amazing opportunity to revisit the always amazing Liberty City.
  2. GTA returns to its utmost craziness through a great and charming story.
  3. The amusing dialogue, fun gameplay, and delightfully absurd missions make this a must-buy for everyone, whether by download (in which case it requires a copy of GTA IV to run) or on disc with The Lost and Damned.
