It's a cult classic, long relegated to unsponsored side-tourneys and the dingy back corners of hole-in-the-wall arcades.

Those who experienced Guilty Gear XX Accent Core first on the PlayStation 2 back in 2009 will feel right at home with Plus, as it looks and feels the same - which is both a positive and a negative. Overall, though, the transition to this console generation has been kind to Accent Core Plus, with astoundingly deep mechanics that still play impeccably in the year 2013.

Despite the age of the core game, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus still has what it takes to hang in the fighting game market.

If you aren't into fighting games, the breakneck pace and split-second timing required by the game might put you off the genre for a while. But if you like fighting games, and you've already played as much of Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix as you can stand, you won't have to feel guilty about picking this up.

An intriguing release for genre fans who have yet to play this iteration of Guilty Gear.

Unfortunately, it is not the most played or the most updated version of the game, and the sloppy netcode doesn't make things any better.

this is my first GG game. so i can't compare how it is to any other guilty gear games. it has a a fun combat system, but the bars on the side of the screen in the fights get pretty annoying. the story was alright and there's plenty of characters to choose from, although i don't understand why some of their names are written in Japanese. the online works well with very small amounts of lag, if any at all. but for some reason when i play vs. CPU it sometimes lags more than online, and i don't understand why. also, there are no english voice actors, japanese only. take from that what you will. being that this is a $15 downloadable game, it's well worth the price Expand
