  • Summary: Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is the first game built around the legendary music of "America's Greatest Rock ‘N Roll Band": Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer. This latest Guitar Hero installment puts players in the shoes of Perry (guitar), Whitford (guitar) and Hamilton (bass), as they rock out alongside frontman Tyler and drummer Kramer. Gamers experience Aerosmith’s Grammy winning career, from their first gig to becoming rock royalty, in a way that no other entertainment vehicle offers. As fans progress through their careers in the game, they can rock out to scores of Aerosmith’s greatest hits, as well as songs from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way. Venues from historical moments during the band's illustrious career offer the experience of "sweet emotion" and further capture the essence of the band's rise to fame. [Activision] Expand

  1. But ultimately how much you personally enjoy Guitar Hero: Aerosmith depends on how much you like the band. If you love Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is easily the best Guitar Hero yet.
  2. The only thing running against Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is the price. For about the same price as the game - $50US - consumers can download these tracks online to their PC for less.
  3. How much you enjoy Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will be adjusted on how much you enjoy Aerosmith music.
  4. If you wall is smothered with Aerosmith posters, you're going to want this game anyway. [Sept 2008, p.79]
  5. The lack of downloadable content is a shame, especially with certain Aerosmith tracks like "Amazing" and "Chip Away At the Stone" missing. The guitar-strumming gameplay is what you would expect from a Guitar Hero game, catchy and entertaining, although there's nothing new.
  6. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith does nothing for players, unless we're speaking of the biggest Aerosmith fans.
  7. Activision is publishing an Aerosmith-focused game with a mere 31 tour tracks, a significant fraction of which have nothing to do with Aerosmith, and they’re charging people full price for the privilege.

AS a relatively big fan of Aerosmith and their musical style... I enjoyed GUITAR HERO: AEROSMITH quit a lot. I'll definately be rockin' this iteration of the series until GH: World Tour is released. Expand

fantastic game , great fun , more enjoyable than GH3,The songs are great ideal for GH,love the layout of the game , cant understand the low reviews this game recieved , doesnt give the respect this game deserves.A total of {including bonus songs} 50+ songs so abit short , hence the score of 9/10 , .highly recommended! All the comments about this game you read that it is poor, too easy, overpriced are rubbish. If you already have guitar hero 3 and are one of these freaks who can complete it 100% on expert then yes those comments are correct. If you are someone new to the genre then the game is fun, with a good difficulty curve. Expand

I have to agree with the others. Even being an Aerosmith fan I am not pleased with this release. Even the Aerosmith songlist is lame and do not even get me started on the rest. This could have easily been a few downloads as add-ons. Fun to play some songs so wait for a used copy if you must have every song for GH3. Expand

Doesn't include many of the bands greatest hits for lackluster songs that no one cares about... sweet emotion is probably the best song in it... and they rehash the dream on addon from almost a year ago... definately rent it DON'T buy it unless Aerosmith makes you wet. Expand

Overall pretty disappointing. "Janie's Got a Gun," "Eat the Rich," "Crying," "Amazing," and "Crazy" are just a few of the strangely missing songs. I liked some of the lesser-known songs, but I expected to. And for a very strange reason, there's no Co-Op Career mode. That's been a fun thing to do with my wife on other GH versions, so We were really shocked. It makes it so you can't earn enough money to buy all the stuff in the Vault. I'm probably going to just have to start another solo career to earn enough money. Expand
