Jun 20, 2011100inFAMOUS 2 is as solid as the original game if not more-so. Sucker Punch has nailed the superhero formula and created what could be the perfect superhero simulation for any platform. This game is the perfect way to scratch that desire in your imagination to be more than human...
-
Jul 4, 201198Combined with the first, the Infamous saga is some of the best action gaming you can experience, and it's exclusive to the PS3.
-
Sep 28, 201195Sucker Punch delivers another knockout game.
-
Jun 15, 201195The addition of UGC, the less angsty - but still serious - storyline and plethora of new abilities make inFAMOUS 2 a much better game than its predecessor.
-
Jun 9, 201192File this game under 'must have' for your PS3 library. Sucker Punch has done a great job building upon their first success in nearly every way.
-
Jun 8, 201192inFAMOUS 2 delivers.
-
Jun 7, 201192If you enjoy comic books or superhero games you truly need to experience this.
-
Jun 7, 201192Excels with a varied open world, bookended by monumental set-piece battles. The inclusion of user-generated content constitutes almost as a game unto itself, and while the morality system isn't one that calls for tough decision making, it pushes even further to provide two dramatically different gameplay experiences.
-
Jun 4, 201192This sequel improves upon the original and will please both classic action and sandbox fans. The campaign is lengthy and the game includes a level editor which will be loved by the community.
-
Jun 23, 201191inFamous 2 is as close to an essential PS3 game as you're going to get in the run up to Uncharted 3, and with the inclusion of the UGC feature, it might even last you until then. Cole McGrath isn't winning any awards for emotional input, but he is tearing the house down with his acrobatics and incredible firepower. When you play this, you'll feel like a real superhero, or super villain, and whichever way you swing, you'll love every minute.
-
Jun 8, 201191inFAMOUS 2 is focused without being linear and wild without ever coming completely unhinged. It has all the exhilarating derring-do of Saturday morning do-gooders but with the wickedly wry smile of those who stay home on Sunday to watch Saturday's fare all over again.
-
Nov 14, 201190Whether you're a fan of the first inFAMOUS or new to the series, the amount of gameplay and riveting story should please all. A few small tweaks to the Move controls would go a long way in improving the overall feel of the game but an absolutely fantastic and worthwhile title nonetheless.
-
Oct 6, 201190inFAMOUS 2 is an electrifying sequel that has risen to the challenge and bettered the series on every conceivable level. On top of this Sucker Punch has resisted the urge to throw in an utterly superfluous multiplayer mode in favour of an extremely versatile User Generated Content system that'll ensure this game is constantly brimming with new content. [August 2011 p63]
-
Jul 7, 201190Even with some tiny flaws this game is truly amazing. The choices you make really impact the storyline, making you feel more involved. inFamous 2 improves on almost every level so we'd definitely recommend buying it.
-
Jul 1, 201190InFamous 2 easily meets and surpasses these requirements, but it's a number of subtler tweaks that make it a better game than its predecessor. [Aug 2011, p.80]
-
Jun 29, 201190The new adventure of Cole McGrath is even better than the previous one. The new powers, abilities and the possibility to make your own missions and share them with the world, works great. A great PlayStation 3 exclusive.
-
Jun 24, 201190I thoroughly enjoyed my time with inFamous 2, and while it may not be the best game on PS3, it sure as hell tries its best to be.
-
Jun 20, 201190There is no question that inFamous 2 is one of the most enjoyable experiences thus far in 2011. inFamous 2 is quite the epic experience and one that if you enjoyed the original you have to pick up this game and see what Cole has in store for himself this time.
-
Jun 19, 201190Sucker Punch has raised its game and then some. [July 2011, p.86]
-
Jun 17, 201190Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jun 15, 201190Infamous 2 improves upon the original in nearly every way with a fantastic setting and great mechanics but the story just wasn't quite a home run.
-
Jun 15, 201190The song 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' by Daft Punk describes inFamous 2 like no other. The story hits you harder than its predecessor did, the gameplay works better and faster and Cole feels stronger with his new powers. That the game isn't much deeper, is a fact you'll take for granted while taking over the world as a hero or villain.
-
Jun 14, 201190inFAMOUS 2 is another strong example of a super-hero game done right, and serves as a great example that sequels can expand on the original formula without being derivative.
-
Jun 13, 201190Sucker Punch hasn't taken any risk with inFamous 2. They have assembled all the positive gameplay elements and mixed them up with a new setting and some fresh gameplay elements.
-
Jun 13, 201190inFAMOUS 2 isn't perfect, but it has fewer rough edges than the original. The camera is this game's only serious problem, and it's never enough of one to drive you away from the game. The new UGC system has the potential to be tremendous, even if player-created mission selection is a bit sparse now. The game controls like a dream, has some impressive visuals and voice work, and some intense music. If you loved the first game, snatch this up ASAP. If you're like me and liked it, but didn't love it, still give this one a shot because the sequel fixed the original's problems.
-
Jun 13, 201190In conclusion, inFamous 2 is a worthy successor to the original game and although its fundamental nature is a rebadged gaming engine, there are several memorable moments in the game and for me, the story was much more down to Earth and relatable as opposed to the fast pacing of the original.
-
Jun 10, 201190By making the game world feel alive, and having all the elements of the game underline the true meanings of choice and decision, inFamous 2 is a masterpiece of game design and execution.
-
Jun 10, 201190Thanks to its karma system which translates in two different adventures for the price of one, inFamous 2 would already prove itself a real must buy, but if we add to that a refined gameplay, impressing visuals and an all-rounded fun and engaging adventure, the game surely deserves a place in any gamer's collection.
-
Jun 6, 201190Whichever way you look at it Infamous 2 is an electrifying sequel that consistently improves upon every single facet of its predecessor. Couple this with the near-limitless, free DLC potential of the new UGC system and this is one shockingly good must-buy for any PS3 enthusiast.
-
Jun 6, 201190Infamous 2 tows a perfect line between too-strong and too-puny, between human and superhuman, between risk and restraint. It halfheartedly delivers on a few of its promises, but its shortcomings are far outweighed by this one stellar achievement: It knows how to make you feel powerful.
-
Jun 6, 201190The first title established him and set our expectations for Sucker Punch's universe, but the sequel expands it into a highly entertaining, thrilling, and responsive action game bursting with stout combat.
-
Jun 5, 201190Infamous 2 is simple and uncompromised but with depth and structure to shine.
-
Jun 2, 201190While it isn't an Uncharted beater, strong advances in the visual area with polished, spectacular presentation and a boost to the all important fun-factor make this a must play for PlayStation fans. It absolutely deserves to be up there with the console's best exclusives.
-
May 30, 201190With Infamous 2, Sucker Punch has gone a step beyond what they created with the first game. The game is even more dynamic and has incredible powers giving you the possibility of trying different tactics to kill your enemies. The idea of freedom is well-established in the game and not just for the gameplay. This is something required to create a great sandbox, but of course the game delivers also a great story. Users demanded an improved Karma system, as they were not satisfied with the fact that choosing one side, bad or good, didn't have any impact on the story; now you can play the whole game twice and find that some missions or even the end of the game might be different. Another great addition to this second instalment is the user-created content - we are glad to see how the main game can be expanded. Definitely a must have for your PS3.
-
May 27, 201190Nothing exists in Infamous 2 just because, and that's something developer Sucker Punch should be commended for. When combined with how well-executed just about everything in the game is, the overall package is one of PlayStation 3's best and a must-play for fans of the first game.
-
Oct 19, 201188A very good superhero's sandbox. There's a lot fighting, but it's good fighting. A lot of replay potential. The level editor is a worthy bonus, too. [Aug 2011]
-
Jun 4, 201188Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jun 1, 201188The more I played Infamous 2, the more I found myself disengaged with the story, instead enjoying the experience solely for its amazing open-world superhero fights. The game sacrifices its narrative flow for more fantastic elements. This isn't a necessarily a bad thing; it just ends up being more about the action and random moments than Cole's journey.
-
May 27, 201188inFAMOUS 2 is a compelling game with improved and pretty graphics plus a perfect control system that is greatly integrated with the entertaining gameplay. It's a pity that the game lacks the perfect balance between action and platform sections like the first chapter and that it looks like Sucker Punch didn't put the same attention on the game design like we have would expected.
-
Jul 8, 201187A great amalgamation of many open-world titles makes for a polished superhero romp. [Aug 2011, p.76]
-
Jun 14, 201187Cole MacGrath is once again reluctantly playing the hero, trying to destroy his nemesis The Beast. With all new abilities, frost- and fire-attacks, a new melee system and a vivid city, Infamous 2 beats his predecessor in all areas. It suffers from a few technical issues though and the controls are a bit rough here and there. Also the AI tends to alternate between good and awful.
