  • Summary: Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is taking the fight to the enemy's home world of Helghan. The ISA goal is direct: capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Assuming the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players lead a group of highly trained soldiers on a mission to take out the Helghast threat. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA. Sev discovers his squad isn't just fighting enemy forces – their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself. [Sony] Expand

  1. For the most part Killzone 2 is utterly, mesmerisingly brilliant and polished to perfection: the gunplay is solid, the controls, once tuned to your liking are superbly weighted and intuitive and the action, when good, is relentless. Time will tell whether or not the single player campaign will be held in as high regard as we’d all want it to be, but right here, right now, this is as good as it gets. [single-player review only]
  2. Killzone 2 is by far the best first person shooter on the PlayStation 3, with unprecedented graphics, impressive physics and a multiplayer experience that deserves to be played. Guerrilla Games have created an unforgettable action adventure with varied gameplay, intelligent AI and imposing enemies. You don't want to miss this game.
  3. With a solid campaign, addictive multiplayer, and some of the greatest presentation ever seen in a video game, Killzone 2 is well worth your time and money.
  4. But without the first game’s ambiguities,? ?a sense of humour or even an ounce of? ?intrigue,? ?its story stinks.? ?It’s so slight you could play the levels in random order to? ?little ill-effect,? ?and it assumes knowledge of everything and everyone,? ?not once recognising the real-world echoes of its premise:? ?an allied invasion of an enemy? ?the allies themselves created.?

This game kinda lived up to the hype, great graphics, intense almost all of the time, but it does not bring anything new to the fps genre go there shoot that and move on but thats not a bad thing, the controls do take awhile to get use to but use the 2 one not the default . mp is fun but the spawing points need work. its worth a buy if you have a ps3 Expand

This game is one of the more uninspiring shooters I've played. I own both XBOX 360 and PS3, so I have played most all action and shooter genre games. I played this after Halo 3, Gears of War 1 & 2, and of course the COD Modern Warfare. The initial cut scenes have some great graphics, but the overall game play is pretty lame. Extremely linear... I played through about half the chapters then realized there wasn't much here to see. Aside from a very lame tank scene it was extremely repetitive, on par with some of the earlier Call of Duty series (COD 3). Expand

I give this game credit for looking sharp, but it relies too heavily on delivering a multiplayer experience that the whole single player campaign was just thrown together. Multiplayer is a big component of first person shooters; but when the single player doesn't deliver (or when there are other games that do multiplayer much better), you realize that this game is not worth the purchase (or the hype).
