• Summary: The game, which allows families, tweens and teens to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can "Build a Band and Rock the Universe," combines the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band with the fun, customization and humor of the LEGO videogame franchise packed with brilliant chart-topping songs and classic favorites suitable for younger audiences, including: Blur's "Song 2", Carl Douglas's "Kung Fu Fighting", Europe's "The Final Countdown", Good Charlotte's "Boys and Girls", and Pink's "So What." Players become rockers as they embark on a journey to stardom that the whole family can enjoy as they work their way through local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations on Earth and beyond that mimic the imaginative settings that the LEGO world offers. Also continuing the LEGO "build-and-play" gaming experience, players are able to create their own LEGO Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew. LEGO Rock Band supports Rock Band instruments, as well as other music game controllers. [Warner Bros.] Expand

  1. The most well-rounded Rock Band on PS3. [Jan 2010, p.115]
  2. Traveller's Tales has once again combined a popular game series with the world of LEGOs, adding their own brand of humor and personality to create a one-of-a-kind band experience that can be enjoyed by families and hardcore rhythm gamers alike.
  3. The Beatles: Rock Band was a success because of its incredible soundtrack and a pure vision when it came to presentation. On top of that, it was the best iteration on Rock Band's gameplay elements to date. Lego Rock Band tries to drink from the same well and even has the benefit of tapping a seemingly new audience. But, due to poor setlist choices and stability issues, it's just not up to snuff when held up against the already impressive Harmonix offerings.

This is the first game ever on my PS3 that I can play with my any member of my family and we are all very happy with it. It's far better then the new guitar hero titles that present boring songs and poor presentation, I mean you can't even know the difficulty level of a song, they invented the intensity term tat says nothing. I found that it's even better then rock band, because you can pay instead of just fail and there are some minor improvements to the game play that someday will move to rock band as a patch. Lets face it, I most of the music titles for the ps2/ps3, I think this is the result of the evolution of them all, for my family, this is the game of the year. Expand

My kids found it in the bargin bin and love anything about Lego. It's only slightly more playable than the other rock bands because Lego will give you quite a humorous story line of your Lego rock band's rise to fame. Still, it's a game that everyone in the household would rather watch than play themselves. Expand
