  • Summary: Lost Planet 2 picks up 10 years since the events of the original adventure and the landscape has evolved dramatically. With the success of terraforming activities, the planet's ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and other new environments. The story has advanced beyond Wayne Holden as players now follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirates on their quest to seize control of E.D.N III. Players move their heroes through different stories creating a truly unique and interactive experience. With this concept, gamers have the opportunity to engage in the story in a more dynamic way as plot threads evolve from various perspectives. The strongest features from the first game returns in Lost Planet 2 making fans feel right at home. In addition to the anchor actions that made the gameplay in Lost Planet a true 3-D experience, Lost Planet 2 allows gamers to gain tactical advantage with a wide variety of new actions. The game also contains a new addition to the enormous Akrids which were a fan-favourite in the first Lost Planet. Beyond the deep single player mode, Lost Planet 2 is loaded with one the most extensive multiplayer campaign seen in a shooter to date. The intense and action packed campaign mode comes with the ability to form teams of up to 4 players online to clear mission objectives with friends. [Capcom] Expand

  1. Great action game including huge boss fights against over-sized monsters. A must have for those who like to play coop games for up to four players. In case you play the game alone alongside AI partners the difficulty level may frustrate you from time to time.
  2. Lost Planet 2 is better by leaps and bounds from the original. Still, there is room for improvement, especially in a more cohesive storyline.
  3. Lost Planet 2 is bigger and better than the first one as a co-op experience with 4 players online.
  4. When you're battling against the biggest bugs the game has to offer, Lost Planet 2 can be a blast particularly with a few friends. It is however a fundamentally frustrating experience, with control issues and questionable design choices that reduces the overall enjoyment the game has to offer.
  5. 65
At first, Lost Planet 2 seems to have it all. Unfortunately if you take a closer look the game has many flaws, which provide more frustration than fun.
  6. Bad game design, technical issues, and a botched character progression system lead to a game that feels like it's trying prevent you from having any of the fun that would be possible with four people playing together, taking out skyscraper-tall bug monsters.
  7. In the build up to its release, Lost Planet 2 was seriously hyped up but as is so often the case in the games industry it sadly fails to live up to its billing offering nothing more than an at best an average shooter and one that is left to hardcore fans of the original rather than the gaming masses.

my favourite game of the generation. i think it isn't understand for the general public, its a personal´s game and very charismatic. Everything involving this planet is fantastic, its design and his world teeming imagination everywhere. It is certainly a cool game with identity, in a clone genre and already so trite. I only hope a third release of this great game. Expand

Great game, It has everything you need in a shooter. Campaign, Online Multiplayer, Co-op. THe storyline takes away from the game as it is confusing and not that detailed. The multiplayer on the other hand is great that includes 10 maps, 14 including dlc. It also has 5 different game modes. This game has some of the best graphics I've ever seen, not to mention it also has gigantic bosses. This game is a must buy. Expand

Here's the honest-to-goodness truth about Lost Planet 2: If you like coop and unlockables GET THIS GAME. If you are only interested in single player story elements and smooth sailing through the campaign, you might want to give this a pass. The important question that you need to answer for yourself is do you mind playing the same levels over and over again with friends to unlock more stuff to then become more efficient and better at going through those levels again to then unlock more stuff? If your answer is yes, this is the game for you. But again, if you generally want to play a game once or twice because of the story and character development, stay away.

I personally loved this game. I played it hours upon hours when it was initially released due to the addictive nature of the coop story modes. There is a huge amount of unlockables (basically 6 different types of every weapon type so my guess is 50 - 60 weapon unlocks alone!) and the replayability is unparalleled. The closed thing I can think of is the new Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. If you like that format, then you'll be right at home with this. In summation, it's a lot of fun. The only reason I gave it an 8 is because I know it's not a game for everyone, but if you do love dominating maps over and over to unlock new loot and equipment it's a must buy (especially since it's so cheap now). Not sure of the online community nowadays but if you and 3 of your friends pitch in $10 a piece and grab a copy used you'll have tons of fun.

This game is good. Whatever people say about the lack of more giant bosses or other faults, I will say I probably disagree. Co-op is really good and it is just an all-around fun game. I think the graphics are decent, despite what some others have said. If you like shooters in general, this game MAY be worth your time. Be ready for a little too much sci-fi than I would typically like, but still good. Expand

Lost Planet 2 is visually stunning. This was my go-to game when I was too young for "M" games. The campaign story is not exactly intriguing, but it is great fun with a friend in co op mode.
Multiplayer was okay, but bullets from your main weapon are almost pointless.
Pros: Co-op, Great graphics, generally fun to play!
Cons: Trophies are absolutely IMPOSSIBLE!!! Some parts can be challenging without a partner (I guess that's what makes a game fun though).

So this game offers an exotic alien-shooter, up to 4 co-op players! So in theory it's sounds very good. That I also hoped and bought is game (10$ only so it was cheap). But. Controls and gameplay lack quality. A lot. The only thing to play here is the main game, single or preferable co-op. There some nasty big monsters out there which were interesting to battle but other than that it failed. Online was horrible, I mean the only positive side was that it was so bad it turned to be funny but that didn't last too long too. So don't be fooled by marketing and buy this game, it isn't what you are looking for. The only people I could consider to test this one is players who can forget the bad controls and gameplay and have three friends to play this constantly co-op. It could work but it's not the best co-op out there so this is probably just waste of your money. Expand
