Finally the game that many 2K Sports fans have been waiting for, and at the very least, the gameplay and presentation is exciting and engaging.

The bottom line is that 2K11 is better in the ways we wanted it to be, so it's a keeper.

There's a lot to like about MLB 2K11. While the series is trending up it definitely needs a makeover and a whole lot of polish to break through the negative reputation tied to it. It's not an ace but it's a serviceable mid-rotation starter.
  4. 2K11's got game, but The Show is deeper, prettier, and more fun. [May 2011, p.79]

  1. I really don't understand why there are so many bad reviews on this game. Besides the little glitches and bugs (which they will eventually patch, 2k always does), this is a great game. The pitching is the best that a baseball game has as of now. The way they changed the fielding and the batting camera is very nice. It makes it realistic. This review is coming from someone who has owned MLB 09 and MLB 10 The Show, with over 500 online games. The Show was a great game, don't get me wrong, but it's getting stale. Now that I've tried MLB 2k11, this is the new baseball game I will be playing all season. Once they patch it up (eventually), I'm sure all the whining complaining babies will change their reviews. You know what I realize, people love to find little flaws on every game and automatically put the game on blast. Every little thing they will say "OH the game is unplayable, HORRIBLE!!". So please do not listen to those who complains the little gltiches here and there or the graphics are not top of the line. I believe it's the gameplay that matters most and what fun it brings to you. BUY IT! Expand
  2. They have taken the already outstanding pitching and batting system to a new level entirely. The controls are much more fluid, and the graphics have elevated this franchise to a new level. The "My Player" mode is a lot more in depth providing more challenges, and much more control in franchise. Everyone knows it is hard to compete with EA games, but this is a definite contender! Expand
  3. I agree. It is very hard to compete with EA games. Luckily for all of us that this game won't have to worry about that since it does not compete against an EA game. Expand

LoL! Why 2K? WHY!!!!!!! I am a huge fan of NBA 2K and all it's iterations. That being stated, I was hoping that MLB 2K11 would have gone through the paces that NBA 2K11 did to make it one of the best sports experiences ever. Clearly not! This is essentially the same game as last year. Any improvements are unoticable. I just don't understand how a game franchise that has been in exsistence as long as 2K has, can be so bad. The only thing I enjoy out of this game is the signature 2K presentation. Every thing else is either bad, to chaotic, or glitchy. I notice alot of people praise the Pitcher/Batter interface. In my personal opionion, I think it stinks. When it was first introduced in 2K9 I thought it was a great idea. The problem I have is that this game has the same effect on me it has had since the PS2 days. The first handful of games you play seem great. Then the more you play, the more bugs and glitches you notice, and eventually it makes the game unplayable. Why? Because you know at some point, something stupid is going to happen that you will benefit from or lose because of. I have no other way to state this, But I think 2K has mailed in this franchise. They have done, just enough to make the game playable, without investing anything else into it, Ahem! (Madden) Ahem! Which isn't like 2K sports to do so. I hope they don't re-up their 3rd party contract with the MLB next year. I think the best thing they ever did with the MLB license is "The Bigs". This game is bad, and the only reason I would recommend it to anyone is to get you r baseball fever fix. Other than that, I don't know why anyone would spill $60 on this. Expand
