  1. Fans will never get enough of Mass Effect 3, but the Leviathan DLC leaves us behind with some mixed feelings. Sure it's nice to once again step into the space shoes of commander Shepard, but since we know how it's going end, it all doesn't seem to matter as much. [October 2012, p.79]

A good buy for those who still have their copy but certainly not worth snapping up the game again for. [Issue#223, p.87]

The first real DLC for the controversial Mass Effect 3 is a two hours long adventure attempting to tell the story of one of the most important creatures in the main game. The plot is definitely better than the gameplay but why now and why so late?

What is wrong with you people? Mass Effect (1, 2 & yes, 3) is one of the greatest games/sci-fi series ever! I'm wondering if those who continue to repeat the "ending sucks" mantra have actually played through with the extended cut. The EC answers all your questions...yes, for those of you to challenged to figure it out before. Levithan is a great little addition to the overall game and I enjoyed it very much. The battles were good and the end scenes were awesome. All of the whiners need to get over it... Expand

The Leviathan DLC for ME3 is a fun addition to the game, and gives added information about the primary antagonists of the entire series. Possibly could have been added to the game as a primary mission, however, the fact that it is DLC does not diminish its importance or fun. Expand

This DLC maintains an atmosphere of mystery which the base game lacks. It feels like an investigation, although the clues are laid out in plain sight for the player. Ultimately, what entertains is the mysterious plot and the action sequences. Since the action is just like the rest of ME3, only the mystery is special. So if you like a mysterious atmosphere, and a plot structure that builds just like a Hollywood movie, all tied to the overall plot of the game, then Leviathan DLC expands the game well. I'd pick it over the less relevant Citadel DLC, which has more content but aims more for a side-story diversion. Expand

A decent addition, realistically, they should have just included this as part of the main campaign instead of releasing it as a DLC. I agree with other reviewers, does not change the ending at all(apparently it adds a few lines to the Catalyst dialogue), but its nice to go back and play the game again after finishing it with something new. Only get if you're a big fan, I suppose that's when you get the most out of it. Nice expansion to the Reaper story, if not slightly confusing (looking at the theory in detail). Expand

I'm still trying to figure out to whats the point of this dlc? It doesn't change the ending. The ending too the dlc is sudden, and has no continual effect on the main story or the ending. There still a couple of bugs and glitches that still remain. And the overall story of Leviathan really isn't that good, but it does do a good job explaining more about the Reapers, if you care to know more about the Reapers at this point, lol! Anyone giving this dlc above a 6 is pulling your legs. This isn't worth $10, if you're expecting something really new, and event changing to the main story. If they would've added the new N7 classes with maybe a expansion that changes the ending, than just more weapons which 9-10 are pretty pointless at this point, if you beat the game on insanity already, or just pretty much did everything the game has to offer, than yeah, I would buy it and find it worth it. But sense that not the case here - yeah....It's not worth it. Don't believe the hype. Collapse
