With some good there of course has to be some bad. The standard music that plays isn't the best that I think they could have gotten, which made the custom playlist feature so nice for me. With a game of this pricing and quality I couldn't understand why they had to create a DLC for a later date instead of just giving me all the levels in the initial purchase. Mercury Hg is not really something I see spending money on twice.

Overall, Mercury Hg is an engaging and fun game that will give you countless replay value and help entertain you and kill time. It's clever premise and unique use of the PS3's limited motion controls integrate well with the gameplay and help immerse the player.

If you're looking for a game to get stuck into that can be played in smaller chunks as a fun little time-sink, this is a really good way to spend that 5 bucks. Go without a coffee today.

Although not a very complete game in comparison with previous entries of the series, and not original anymore, it offers a hundred of interesting and challenging levels.

Interesting puzzles, HD graphics, and a great soundtrack make for a one-of-a-kind puzzle experience. Tight controls keep things from being overly frustrating and a couple of extra modes add variety to the mix.

The amount of content you'll get in Mercury Hg for only 400 Microsoft Points, is very good. The puzzles are pretty fun but the soundtrack ruins most of the gameplay experience.

If not for the often failing SIXAXIS controls, this would have been the perfect puzzle experience. Simple, yet challenging gameplay complemented by a great visual style and ditto soundtrack make Mercury Hg a continuation of form for Archer MacLean.

Mercury Hg is cheaper, safer and more fun than playing with real volatile chemicals, though the experience is short lived and simple.

There's no mistaking that it's a good game. It looks nice, sounds great and is enjoyable to progress through, however, you can't help but shake the feeling that more could have been done.

For $4.99, you're getting an awesome game that will keep you occupied for some time. Even with the promise of DLC completely ignored (some is already available), there's plenty of content in Mercury Hg to keep you busy. It's not only about getting through the stages, but about perfecting them.

Minor issues aside, this is a very fun title. Leaderboards, trying to beat your personal best times, and some unlockable bonus levels do add some replay value, and clever features (free look mode, the blob itself has a high cuteness factor) give the game some charm. If you're looking for a fun and breezy diversion, and an excuse to brush up on your knowledge of the periodic table, Mercury Hg is worth a look.

Both Mercury-games were released during the early years of the PSP. The games still play as they did before and look pretty neat in their HD-iterations. [Nov 2011, p.97]

Like the periodic table? You're in luck, because Mercury HG is flipping obsessed with it. [Christmas 2011, p.109]

The colorful, grid-based maps shift and turn in surreal ways, lending a truly distinctive feel to the game. [Holiday 2011, p.84]

A really enjoyable small game. You have to know that this is really a small game but it's well executed. The puzzles are fun and the controlsA really enjoyable small game. You have to know that this is really a small game but it's well executed. The puzzles are fun and the controls tight. It's fun to compete with the online leaderboards. The musics are great and the levels are variable, I truly recommend this for anyone who want's a game to play in between bigger games. Full Review »
