60At its heart, it's a realistic basketball game that tries to be an arcade game. If Tecmo stuck with their roots and made it the game an actual arcade style b-ball game a la Tecmo Bowl, NBA Unrivaled would have been awesome but with stiff gameplay and wonky AI, the only thing good about this game is the way it looks.

I'd say that you should try playing this only to laugh at its total, across-the-board incompetence, but it'd be like recommending you throw eight quid into the bin and then roll around naked and giggling in a pile of your own faeces. Unrivaled indeed. [Sept 2010, p.115]

10While it is a nice throwback to the retro arcade-style basketball games of yore, the overall package is an accumulation of bad design decisions that adds up to one of the worst basketball games ever made.
