    The controls cramp the game’s style and the opponent AI is about the only unrealistic thing about the game but then again the franchise mode is wonderfully deep.

    It's definitely a much tighter playing game than last year's version, albeit with room for more improvements to be made. If we could get a revamped ProStick, in addition to slightly tuned face-off mechanics, among other quirks, the next NHL 2K game could seriously go down as one of the best NHL games ever.

    What separates 2K8 from 08 is its in-depth controls, its fabulous dekes and speed and flow which rivals real hockey. A must for true hockey fans and not arcade players. The only advantage 08 has is the cool detail of the marks left on the ice by each skate. Easily left behind by those wanting the best!… Expand

    It's not bad, but I would hold off for EA Sports latest offerings. It just lacks the *punch* that EA always delivers in the same series.
