Offering a unique play experience from one of the video game industry's most creative minds, NOBY NOBY BOY gives players complete freedom to create gameplay suited to their tastes. As BOY, players can eat and spit out nearly everything they encounter in the game, from people and animals to trees and buildings, helping them to gain length as they stretch their elongated body. Players can control BOY’s front and back ends using the Playstation 3 controller's two analog sticks, allowing for detailed movements such as tying themselves into knots or threading BOY through holes in the environment. NOBY NOBY BOY allows players to record video footage as they play and upload it directly to YouTube for easy viewing. Delivering a new and innovate approach to online gaming, NOBY NOBY BOY lets players collaborate to unlock new game stages. As players stretch BOY in their individual play sessions, the lengths to which they grow are uploaded to a persistent character known as GIRL, who grows at the same rate as the combined length of all the players in the world. GIRL starts at Earth and expands through the solar system as more games are played and BOYs from all players continue to grow. When GIRL reaches a new milestone in the solar system, these areas are unlocked as playable stages in the game for everyone around the world. [Namco Bandai Games] Expand

  1. By some combination of cunning and magic, it makes you a child again. It helps you rediscover the bottomless fascination and joy you had in discovering the properties of string, or sand, or animals, or Newtonian physics for the very first time. It makes you free to play, and happy to make your own entertainment, for hours on end.
  2. Noby Noby Boy is more a toy than a videogame, a surreal experience unlike anything else you've ever played before. It's a "love or hate" kind of game, but it will keep you hooked if you get in sync with it.
  3. Much like Flower, there’s not much of a game or a point to Noby Noby Boy, but the cool community aspect of working together to unlock new locales for you to explore is a really unique hook that makes this a game you can come back to more often to see the progress towards that next planet.

We can't pin it down, but Noby Noby Boy is uniquely addicting. Love it or loathe it, there's nothing else like it.
  5. If you're willing to give Noby Noby Boy a chance, if you fancy something a little different, hell, very different, you'll find fun from Noby Noby Boy's bizarre world.

Sure it is aimless, frankly quite off-the-wall-zany, and definitely a little repetitive but it also manages to be kind of fun.
  7. Even though Noby Noby Boy's shallow antics aren't fun or interesting enough to justify the lack of actual goals or structure, there's just too much new and quirky stuff here to not be deserving of its incredibly meager $5 asking price.

Instead of leading you around on a leash, you can choose to do whatever you want in a small but wacky world with a lot going on. I felt I got well over $5 worth of entertainment several times over, and my only real complaint(s) are the small size of areas and the motion controlled camera. Expand

Some people may find something truly compelling and entertaining about this title. It's extremely simple at it's core, offering strangely addictive physics based mechanics and the prospect of new planets for those willing to contribute to GIRL's growth. I gave it an 8 even though it would be better without a score at all because it's $5, quite fun, and well worth the purchase if you are into quirky and simplistic games. Definitely a must try for fans of Katamari Damacy. Expand

Takes a little bit of time to accept that there is no point and just have fun with it, but as I got more comfortable with it the more I loved it. Easily the best 5 bucks you can spend on PSN. Expand

It's all at once wacky, cute, crude (there is farting), and of course fun. Getting the hang of the controls is tricky at first but in no time you'll be feeding Girl your length to help her reach Uranus. Expand

The controls require you to read the manual which may ruin it for younger players. The game takes the 'grow' objective from Katamari Damacy and throws away objectives and context, so the only thing you might play it for is just the fun of the moment, and the dozen or so hidden trophies. I got a few trophies during the first ten minutes and quickly nearly a third of them. Some of the remaining ones frustrate me, so I'm taking a break from the game. When it's on sale on PSN, the price of admission is fair for a peek into some polished but very experimental game design. Expand
