  • Summary: Of Orcs and Men first puts you into the role of an elite Orc soldier from the legendary legion of Bloodjaws, a league of warriors deeply involved in the war opposing the Orcs and Goblins on one side to their persecutors, Humankind. As a veteran warrior who has seen the most brutal of battles, you are appointed by the Orc commander to complete a mission that could change the course of the war: kill the one man responsible for all of this bloodshed, the one who has, for years, exhorted the human masses to loath and fight the green-skinned people: the Emperor himself. 1. Orcs is unrefined in spots, but Cyanide punches massively above its weight in terms of production values and thought-provoking storytelling. Go in expecting some rough edges, but also expect to be surprised. [Christmas 2012, p.78]
  2. Of Orcs and Men is all about two greenskins whose mission it is to kill the human emperor to free the Orcs of slavery. An interesting set-up, considering these two greenskins are no sissies. The dynamic between them reminded us of Kane & Lynch. [December 2012, p.81]

This is a very original title, not only when it comes to its story but also its gameplay. This is something we really appreciate, but it doesn't manage to rise above its rival. We're sure many people will love it, but it'll drive crazy that audience that looks for fast, easy titles.

Imitates better fantasy RPGs poorly. It's interesting concept is buried under poor story-telling, a lifeless world, and dull combat. [Christmas 2012, p.89]

  1. I'm probably one of the few people that enjoyed the Game Of Thrones RPG, although gameplay was repetative and boring in places, it told a great story. I think that this is the case in Or Orcs And Men too. I, personally, adore this game. Combat is fun, sophisticated, and hard. Gameplay and story are absolutely innovative. The one complaint I have is that levels are way to linear. You go from point A to point B with the occasional second route. Other than that, flawless. Although now a game for anyone, I'd definetly pick it up if your someone who enjoys engrossing RPGs like me. Expand
