I remember very vividly in 2000 I got a PlayStation 2 for Christmas. I spent my whole childhood on that console, and I never needed another. Sure I was envious of my friends with an Xbox, only because of Halo, but the games out on the PS2 were by far the best, and most addicting. Sony had the market, and my heart, in a monopoly with the PS2. When the PlayStation 3 was announced, I eagerly awaited for its release. I eagerly awaited until I found the starting price of $699. There was no way that I could afford that price, and not many people could. I was extremely disappointed when I found out the price of the PS3, especially since that was the only console I wanted. Christmas that year came and went, and I didn't get a PS3. I remember being angered at Sony for their ridiculous price. Christmas the next year came (2007) and I was one of the few who was able to get my hands on a Wii. I was planning on giving it to my sister for Christmas, but I also knew that this Wii would be the only 7th Generation console I would ever have, and that saddened me immensely. Christmas that year came, and my sister opened up her Wii and was excited to get one. She then handed me a present and smiled. I had already opened up all of my presents so I was puzzled by this. I went ahead an opened it, and to my amazement it was an Xbox 360. The idea of getting an Xbox 360 hadn't really crossed my mind. But I figured since all of my friends at the time had one, I would give it a try. So I fired it up, popped in my copy of Halo 3, and started playing. Immediately I knew that the Xbox 360 was my was not only going to be better than the PS3, I also knew that I had made the right choice keeping it. I play my Xbox 360 for 3 years until I finally got a PS3. When I finally got one, I was extremely disappointed to learn that all the franchises I had enjoyed and loved on the PS2 and PS1 were gone. No Crash Bandicoot, No Sly Cooper, No Jak, nothing. All of my childhood memories had been lost in this overpriced heap of garbage that Sony calls a game console. the instant I started my PS3 up for the first time, I had to wait 2 hours for it to finally download all of the ultimately useless bloatware updates that Sony forces you to install, only to be disappointed with rather mediocre graphics, and game play. The only 2 games I have actually enjoyed over the course of the 3 years I have had my PS3 are Uncharted 2, and God Of War III. Both of which have its roots in the PS2. The one thing I will give credit to the PS3 is the fact that it rarely crashes because of hardware failures. But that is NOT the same as software updates. With games that crash, hideous controls, updates that brick consoles, a marathon of mediocre games, useless updates, updates that remove features, lack of PSN security, and a **** ton of other things. Sony completely screwed up with the PS3. They had my heart in a headlock with the PS2, but completely lost me with $699 price. I may have liked the PS3 if I had gotten it when it first came out. But to be honest, I'm glad a got an Xbox 360 instead. Sure the PS3 may have a few more exclusives, but all the exclusives on the PS3 are just mediocre clones of Xbox 360 games. Unfortunately all the PS3 does anymore is sit on my console shelf collecting dust. The only time I use it anymore is on the rare occasion I decide to watch a Blu-Ray movie. Sony I enjoyed the PS1, and the PS2 very, very much. But you killed your brand with the PS3. Expand

PPL if u want a reliable console, go with the xbox 360. i got hacked on ps3 because of the terrible secruity. GO with xbox 360 everybody! its the best console and you wont regret it!!

PS3 console was a huge let down. First of all, it is much heavier than it looks. It's graphics are also very poor compared to the Xbox 360 and PC. I would like to see the PS3 improved.
