If this is truly the last Ratchet and Clank release then rest assured that the series goes out with a bang. It’s one of the games of the year and an outstanding exclusive for the Playstation 3.
  2. I really couldn't ask for a better embodiment of everything I've come to enjoy from the series. The constant satisfaction from upgrading creative weaponry, item collection which feels rewarding rather than trivial, and the over-the-top action are all here, and better than they've ever been. With the addition of some interesting puzzles, even more flexibility with your weapons, and a great presentation, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is not only the best game in the series, but one that will certainly stand the test of, well, time.
  3. Ratchet & Clank fans didn’t want this to be remarkably different; they wanted something recognisable that sent the series off with a bang. And it does just that.
  4. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time’s likelihood of appealing to you is nearly as infinite as the universe it takes place in, but a few disappointingly expected plot turns and some finicky camera controls will make the universe seem a tad smaller.
  5. It's a monumental space adventure you shouldn't miss, whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer. Insomniac wraps up the duo's space saga in style. We just hope to see more of them in the future. We can't get enough of these guys.
  6. The usual Ratchet & Clank mixture of platform elements, problem solving and shooting, but the best game in the series so far. Insomniac gives us a large universe to explore freely with smarter problems, a well-needed higher difficulty setting and lots of things to collect.
  7. The lack of fresh ideas, especially during Ratchet's sections, will be seen by many as a negative, but there are so few games that nail the action platforming genre that it's easily forgivable. If you're looking for a fun, imaginative, family friendly PS3 game, A Crack in Time fits the bill perfectly.
  8. A fantastic finale of this colourful franchise. The story is pure genius, the action well thought out and the puzzles offer a lot of challenge. Let’s hope Insomniac Games keeps offering ways for us to enjoy this virtual world, perhaps through a subfranchise. We can’t miss the great one-liners from Captain Quark or the visual beauty and exotic weapons!
  9. Overall A Crack in Time is a brilliant addition to the Ratchet & Clank franchise and it manages to keep its charm and character despite the introduction of so many new features. The control issues, along with some repetitive content, do jar on occasions but they aren’t enough to distract you from your overall enjoyment of a game that is well worth the money.
  10. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time has all the spices of the previous games, and will most certainly satisfy the fans. If you're looking to have fun with the most heavily fierce and strapped to the teeth Lombax of the universe, then this is your game.
  11. It's a solid product that mixes platforming, action, puzzles and even interludes of space combat. And this is not only a game for kids, as it's one of Sony's best exclusive offerings for the rest of the year.
  12. It's not that A Crack in Time is all fur coat and no knickers. The problem is, it's all fur coat and the same knickers it's been wearing for seven years. Time for a change.
  13. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is a good game, and sometimes a very good one at that, but apart from a few new time-centric puzzles on Clank's behalf it doesn't bring very much new material to the table. The titular Crack in Time mainly seems to lead to the previous PS3 games in the series. And all the PS2 versions before that. It's fun, but hardly inspiring.
  14. The same old Ratchet & Clank as always: unsettled, fractured, gorgeous and varied to a fault.
  15. A well crafted and entertaining addition to the series. Nothing more, nothing less.

All you really need to know is that Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is at the very least on a par with Tools of Destruction and, as such, it’s a game that you need to experience.
  17. The pinnacle of everything that's made the series great from day one pulled together with sheer mastery and polished to a blinding sheen. Insomniac's finest work to date, and that's saying something. You're gonna love the way it looks, I guarantee it.
  18. While Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time doesn’t really evolve the franchise to any significant new level; I did appreciate the clever time puzzles for Clank and the interactive space combat and moon exploration.
  19. 95
Insomniac has created another Ratchet and Clank to top the last one.
  20. A Crack in Time is simply fun to play. The puzzles are well-designed, the platforming fun without being frustrating, and the battles are a blast ... and it all takes place in a humorous and imaginative galaxy that's a joy to explore.
  21. While Ratchet and Clank's latest outing would serve as a great starting point for those just discovering the franchise, it's an even wilder ride for longtime fans. The story is packed with surprises, including some shockers about the duo's origins, as well as answers to some longstanding questions.
  22. Another excellent game that delivers on all fronts.
  23. This series is the closest video games come to having a noteworthy serialized adventure. A Crack in Time shows a good idea and consistent execution is all it takes to keep interest high. Keep ‘em coming, Insomniac!
  24. A truly immersive and extremely enjoyable experience that fans of the franchise shouldn't miss. Its innovative gameplay elements and engaging conclusion to the trilogy make this one the definitive title in the Future series.
  25. There is definitely a feeling of this being more of the same, but enough has been added to the formula to keep that from being a big deal as a negative.
  26. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is yet another great entry in a consistently excellent franchise, and the best entry in the series since the PS2 days.
  27. And what can I say but about time, it's refreshing to play something fun and well-made as opposed to those dark shooters or the wealth of games that currently take themselves a little too seriously!
  28. 90
Being a huge fan of Tools of Destruction, I had a sneaking suspicion that I would love Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I was right. Insomniac has created a visually appealing game with enough personality to match its good looks.
  29. If you are looking for a game that is entertaining to the point of making you laugh out loud, of invoking a childlike sense of fun playing a game, then this is such a title.
  30. A Crack in Time is the best, most polish and meatiest game Insomniac has made in the series -- maybe in their history.
  31. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is a great addition to the series. It nicely caps the storyline, it fills the underserved (at least by good titles) platformer market, and the few unique new elements breathe a bit of fresh air into the game.
  32. 90
It's not a difficult game, but with bolts, Zoni, Skill Points, holoplans, Constructo Mods, space missions, Trophies and Challenge Mode, there's an abundance of gameplay. It's a robust single player experience, and I particularly love that Insomniac has kept their signature Skill Points, with their own quirky requirements, separate from Trophies.
  33. For those of you who've never embarked on an adventure with the furry-faced hero and his brainy metal friend, you've got a lot of catching up to do, but it'll be worth it -- Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is easily one of the best in the series.
  34. 90
A Crack in Time isn’t a revolution, but it is an impressively solid and fun game with a number of new gameplay hooks to enjoy. Plus, it continues a story set in motion back in Tools of Destruction that you’ll want to see through to the end.
  35. Even though there’s not much different or new about this sequel when compared to the last game, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time manages to be one of the most enjoyable titles released this year.
  36. A Crack in Time is easily the best addition to the Ratchet and Clank series so far, doing everything the previous games did right, as well as adding another layer of high quality gameplay features.
  37. A Crack in Time is essentially safe. It's a Ratchet & Clank game, which means it has high production values, a good sense of humor, a high number of explosions, accessible gameplay, and much of the same stuff you're used to from the games that have come before it. You can't really go wrong with it; it's a consistently excellent series, with only a few slight issues here and there.
  38. Even though the formula of this series hasn't seen a dramatic overhaul, the gameplay does continue to offer a very solid experience, complete with enough new features to keep it feeling fresh.
  39. If A Crack in Time is indeed the final Ratchet & Clank game, then the series has been finished the right way - with a solid game that doesn't stray from what fans love while giving them plenty of service in the process. And in this way, it's also guilty of playing it a bit safe, but when expectations are that high, and are met, it's a sure sign of a quality game.
  40. 88
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time adds new bits and pieces to the good old gameplay, but mainly excels with its fantastic and addictive adventure, amazing graphics and insane humour. On top of that, there's a lot more to do and to collect in this title than the previous installments. Sony was probably hoping for a successful tag team in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time this fall. There's only one reply to that: Mission accomplished.
  41. For fans of the series or for anyone who enjoys a good action platformer, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is an absolute must own.
  42. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is a fun, imaginative and family friendly PS3 game.
  43. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time keeps all the aspects of the previous games of the series, improving in every department and giving the player entertainment and a lot of things to do. A graphic department with some low spikes and the lack of true challenge prevents the game to gain a very high score. Anyway the last videogame from Insomniac is highly recommended to every genre's enthusiast.
  44. It's really no surprise that a dev studio and a game series with a proven track record of quality has produced yet another fantastic title, but it's much appreciated in a market where so much material is recycled.
  45. 86
The result is excellent as ever, sspecially by the combination of the two characters' gameplay, the great level design and the weapons.
  46. Clever time-manipulation puzzles and improved pacing make this the best Ratchet game in years.
  47. Be that as it may, the strengths of A Crack in Time overcome its weaknesses and on the whole is a fun experience.
  48. Altogether, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is easily the best of the three Ratchet and Clank entries on the PS3, and it does a great job of tying up any loose ends established by the Future trilogy.
  49. 85
A great game marred only by a pervading sense of dj vu, then. But when the quality bar is raised this high, deja vu be damned - we couldn't care less. We just sincerely hope that Insomniac see reason and postpone killing off their strongest franchise for a some time yet.
  50. It’s improved upon the previous Ratchet and Clank platforming formula, and has excellent pace and a lot of secondary games to play, from finding all the Zoni to competing in a galactic tournament. Adults may find it a bit slow, though I’m fond of the title because of its wholeness. Few titles these days share that quality.
  51. Ratchet and Clank is a game that makes the player feel empowered; it's not so difficult as to make things frustrating, yet it's not so trivial as to make the progress feel boring and achievements frivolous.
  52. A Crack in Time is a well crafted platformer boasting hilarious dialogue and addictive gameplay. While it doesn't make any radical changes to the formula, both fans and newcomers will have a blast out of it.
  53. Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is a delicious platform game. The relationship of Ratchet and Clank delivers a great adventure and the split between the two friends gives a lot of variety in the levels. Off course the game looks amazing just like its predecessors and the humour never gets old. A Crack in Time is a moment of joy, that’s why its double that disappointing that the game is rather short.
  54. Nice sequel for the Ratchet & Clank Series. Free roaming elements and puzzle solving sessions upgrade the main formula and results in a nice twist to the original structure.
  55. 85
The Ratchet & Clank trilogy are wound up with dignity with A Crack in Time. This is the best platform shooter you can wish for at the moment, all because of the new features.
  56. 85
This is the last part in the trilogy and has a few new gameplay possibilities. You can use the great new Hooverboots, explore space with your spaceship and you need to find Clank. A great adventure and a truly worthy closing of the trilogy.
  57. Same gameplay, new story. More jokes and many new little gadgets make the new part of this series as enjoyable as the older ones. Insomniac Games build on their qualities and do well so.
  58. 83
It looks stunning, plays nicely and has enough gadgets and hardware to keep Ratchet and Clank, together or on their own, hitting those platforms for a while yet.
  59. The gaming equivalent of watching Saturday morning cartoons, this is an easy-going marriage of puzzle solving and shooting in a game that never tries to box above its weight class, and it never has to.
  60. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is a must have purchase for any Ratchet fans who has enjoyed the series in the past.
  61. This is a solid game with solid platforming, fun gunplay and well thought-out puzzle design, with bags of character. But it suffers, we think, mainly from the progression that games have made over the past two years.
  62. 80
With a few good additions to the solid gameplay, and ignoring the one not-so-good space combat addition, A Crack in Time is a great conclusion to a great trilogy - and possibly the series.
  63. A Crack in Time is an engaging conclusion to a trilogy that has been thoroughly enjoyed by millions and now seems like a fitting place to say our fond farewells to a larger series and let nostalgia take over.
  64. Insomniac closes the plot of the Future sub-saga with a tittle where most of the time, Ratchet is without Clank, and Clank without Ratchet. Nice visuals, incredibly fun as usual and packed with an arsenal of mass destruction that never disappoints, the only complaints about the game come from the few additions added to the gameplay mechanics -although Clank and his puzzles add a brief and fresh touch-, the same technical aspect we have been watching in PS3 since Tools of Destruction, and the lack of a multiplayer what would have totally fit here.
  65. A Crack in Time continues the Ratchet and Clank series in a fun way.
  66. The bosses in Ratchet & Clank however had always seemed on the cusp of greatness, but never quite reached it. That changed with A Crack in Time. While most of the game's bosses are fairly nondescript, the final two are exactly what I was waiting for. Fast-paced, multi-faceted, and grandiose in scale, these battles were, in a word, awesome.
  67. 70
Ratchet and Clank might be living on borrowed time, but between the gags and the glitz we’re happy to forgo collecting a little longer.
  68. 90
It's all about balance, you see. And pacing. And A Crack in Time does as good a job of maintaining both as any Ratchet game we've seen in years.
  69. While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, A Crack in Time is definitely the best entry for Ratchet & Clank on the PlayStation 3.
  70. Insomniac have a gift – the ability to forge games of such a high quality – and to ask them to stop would be a crime against gaming humanity.
  71. Besides being the best R&C adventure yet, it's definitely one of those rare games that puts a smile on your face from the second it begins.
  72. 100
I'm a casual fan of the series and I still found myself excited to get home and play the game each night the past week. It may be a lot of more of the same, but more of the same has never been so darn addicting.
  73. This game has everything, fast action, time travel, a great sense of humor and some of the best visuals of any platformer game. A Crack in Time is easily one of the best PlayStation 3 games of the year!
  74. If you’re completely new to the series, here’s one of those sappy-but-absolutely-true game-reviewisms for you: This is one of those games about which, not too far in the future, I’ll probably be thinking, "I wish I could play that game again, for the first time." Maybe, someday, there’ll be a mod for that, too.
  75. 90
Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time has just enough new content to justify its existence as a standalone title, and the fact that it looks, sounds, and plays like a dream only helps its case.

The game designers at Insomniac have treated their series with some respect, but if you’re meeting these heroes for the first time you certainly won’t feel lost at sea. Everything about this series screams the word "fun" but this one in particular was hands down the best experience of them all so far! I love the clank time puzzles, they are easy at first but take quite a bit of thinking towards the end. I adore all the characters in this franchise and it is awesome when you see people from previous games return or make cameo's. Nice blend of action, comedy, and fun! Full Review »

The story is in parts amusing, but overall very touching and surprisingly moving. The gameplay is as fast-paced and enjoyable as any of the other entries and I had a great time blasting enemies to pieces with the variety of crazy weapons you're given. And there's a surprising amount of content here too, given all the planets you can explore with Aphelion for bolts, zoni and other treasures. Overall, one of the best videogames I've played in a long time. I cannot recommend it enough. Full Review »
